Echo X on 355 TPI
Echo X on 355 TPI
I have been reading and researching for this 871 blower project I want to do with the 87IROC I recently bought.
I talked to someone at a local speed shop and the guy suggested a lower cost way to get what I want is to add a backpack leaf blower to add boost to their TPI. At first I was skeptic, but the guy told me about how he had a friend who did this and he put the blower in the front seat of the car and was able to wire a switch to the blower and rev it up as they accelerated. He ran one of those accordion-style dryer ducts out the window so that the inside of the car wasn't filling up with fumes and then the output of the motor he ran under the dash and through the area where the air conditioner used to be and up into the throttle body.
Took a full second off of his 1/4 mile time.
I was thinking about it, and shoot, it may be cheaper and easier than going the 871 route.
What do you all think? I was looking at the Home Depot website and think this might work:

Sure would be cheaper than an 871!

Did this speed shop also mention running the super special fluids to gain 50 hp?
