ATI Questions

First of all, I am going to get an ATI Procharger. Which ones for our cars do not have the oil lines and all that stuff, b/c that is the style I want. Also I am going to upgrade to the 3 core intercooler and get everything polished, do you think this stuff is worth the extra money?? Which kit would be best for my setup?(see sig)

Also how much boost can I run w/out blowing up my engine. It is a ZZ/4 Short block w/ world S/R Torquer heads and a Comp Cam w/ 114 degree lobe seperation, and about 9:1 compression. I can give you more info. if needed, also this will be a daily driver.

I know I can call ATI for all this, but I want to hear what you guys have to say b/c you all know your Sh*t Thanks for any help

stocroc,

Any of the model that have "sc" after there model# is a self-contained unit. example P1sc or D1sc

If you go with the D1sc, the kit comes with the 3-core intercooler.

you also better be sure on your compression ratio, zz4 long blocks are normally 10:1. which is not very boost friendly.

Also you'll want to check your cam specs and make sure that you have minimal valveoverlap.

And yes i think it is definately worth the extra money to get everything polished.

larry thanks for all the help. You answered many of my questions. As far as compression ratio the engine builder told me its about 9:1 and the cams lobe seperation is 114, isn't that pretty good for supercharging?

Thanks Again

I would find out exactly what your compression, don't go on just a guess of the top of your engine builder head. the more compression that you have, the eaiser it is to blow **** up!

as far as the cam, i think you can still run a low lobe seperation as long as the valve overlap is kept to a minimum but don't quote me on that.

and yes 8:1 to 9:1 seem to be the the general concensus for a street car
