Got the new ProCharger BOV today, Very nice peice! The pics don't quite do it justice, but here are few anyway. One big diference between this valve and the Vortech Mondo BOV is the fact that this valve is a billit piece, instead of Vortech's cast piece. And the valve blows down through 6 ports that are machined around the bace of the BOV, compared to Vortech's single outlet. The ProCharger guy's have outdone themselves on this one!

That looks very nice. What does it go for? So far in the running is the Vortech BOV, HKS Race BOV, HKS SSQVALPHABET Race BOV, this Procharger BOV, and anything else I can't think of currently. What is the size of the valve on this one?

askulte,
I have run the HKS race BOV, have owned (but not run) a Vortech mondo BOV, and now have the Procharger BOV. I believe this Procharger valve is the BEST piece for the money. It outflows the Vortech by more than double the CFM!
88 WS6 TransAm GTA,
No turbo for me! I think I will sit that one out. I have recently sold the Y/S-trim, and in it's place will be an X-trim. That way I should be able to handle the few turbo guys that are out there.
As for the price of the BOV, they retail for $399.00, but there are a few guys out there that are willing to give it up for around $350. I have a local guy that is a distributor for Procharger, and can give some increadable deals. If anyone wants his number feel free to send me an e-mail, and I will hook you up.

FAQman,
Looks good, have any pics that will show the actual sive of the valve? What is it rated for in cfm? What is the price of the unit (in US coin)? Will that valve be able to withstand 25+ psi? Sorry for all the questions, but as you know, we like as much info on these things as we can get!
later,
DonB

I definitely like the T-netics Godzilla for only 259 dollars. Looks and functions great! http://64.225.76.178/main.htm

The BOV is 60mm in diameter (internal). It costs around 150$ or so. I'm not exactly sure how much it flows, I'll know soon enough if it flows enough. I'm going on a limb here w/ this one.
25psi? Why on earth would you need that much boost. If that's the levels you require to make some decent power you'd better get your induction straightened out. My IR flows over 1800cfm so I won't be seeing pressures like that, although my carbs can handle 3 bars of boost.
I would NEVER pay 350$+ for just a mere BOV. That's insane.. just because is'pretty. If mine's too msall I'll put on a second one! (it won't be hard to dial in both for exactly the same spring pressure) I have 2 turbo's and 2 intercoolers so I could also use 2 bovs.
Just for showing off: my intercoolers!

I have an 82 corvette.
About the huge amount of boost with sh!tloads of power...I'd rather have less boost with more power as in a better flowing system

FAQman,
I understand what you are saying about a better flowing system, and less boost, but there comes a time when a 23* head stops flowing. That is usually around the 320-330 cfm range (remember we are working with a 4.030 bore). My heads are maxed out! I am also running a Victor Super Junior intake setup for EFI. I know all about wanting a great flowing system, and my setup flows very well! I wish I could run my supercharger to it's max, and see just a few psi on the guage, but that is not going to happen. My goal is 900+ HP, the s/c will have to push around 1500cfm to reach those hp numbers. That is why we are talking 25+ psi.

900Hp? WOW! I'm not ready for such an amount, I'm aiming at handling & cornering w/ good power, not the straight line stuff.
I know about the head limitations. I'd like to run a pair of 18 degree heads too.. but then I'd have to get another manifold so that won't go!
What driveline & rear susp are you running?

Hum... My brother and I have been converting 65mm ford Explorer throttle bodies into manually operated blowoff/bypass valves (well, that’s the latest thing, his car is currently running a home built setup based on a modified bypass built into the t-bird super coupe sc’s that has been opened up to about 54mm, using the same linkage). By manually operated they actually operate off of a spring loaded linkage off the throttle arm using a mountain bike brake cable as an actuator (looks and works much better then it sounds, that and he bought 11 of the throttle bodies at the scrap yard for $3/pound, I think that the total was around $9. The linkages cost about $4 in supplies, the funny thing is that the threaded end on the brake cable uses the same thread as the stop screw on the TB, so that end threads together and is adjustable with no modifications).
I think Mike Sitar (toohighpsi, the guy running two eaton M90's on a 351 in a t-bird turbo coupe that was featured in one of the mags last fall) is adapting a similar setup to his car (I know my brother just sent him a couple of TB's to do it)
I've come to the conclusion it's not really a low buck thing with us, it's just we like building things...
