I'm going through a learning curve, please help

I'm learning, very slowly, but i'm learning. I busted the ring lands on the pistons, so now I'm rebuilding the engine. I'm pretty sure it was because I went lean under boost. I want to do everything I can to prevent this from happening again. The guy that was dynoing my car thought my injectors may be locking up at higher fuel pressures. My injectors have 120,000 miles on them.

Should I replace them? If so, with what? If I do replace them, what else do I need to do?

BTW, I'm using a P1SC on an L98. I'm going back together with 9.5:1 forged pistons.

Thanks in advance for any help.

What other mods do you have done to the engine? Cam, heads, intake... let us know. I would definatley replace those injectors, either with 24's, or 30's & a custom prom.

The rest of the engine is stock.
If I have to get a custom prom, where do I go to get it. (Please excuse my ignorance.)

sorry to hear about your pistons, i personally would drop the compression to no more than 9.0:1.

I bought a set of the accel 24# injectors and put those in, i'm still running the stock chip and don't seem to be having any problems(on MAF system). i don't know if the SD system will compensate for the larger injectors.

Injector lock is a big concern with all of the injectors that GM used on all the TPI cars at higher fuel pressures (where the injector closes during its normal cyle and cannot reopen or does not reopen every time it is commanded causing a leanout). I hate to say it but I use ford injectors on blower cars and dry manifold nitrous systems because they have a higher lock threshhold.

Maniacc, I'm just curious, why do you say 9.0:1?

Would you guys recommend 24# SVO injectors over the Accel injectors or visa versa(sp?)?

The guy up at M C Racing recommended anywhere from 24# to 30# injectors, but admitted that he wasn't as knowledgable as he would like to be about GM applications.
