Ads popping up?
It seems everytime I log onto this website, Advertisements start popping up. Maybe its me, but its never done that before, just started recently. Is this something new. I remember reading that a couple of guys wanted to put some Ads on here, dont know if that happened or not.
Anyone else get this?

Hey Dirk, since you are from Tucson, do you have spring forward and fall back? Just want to clear up that other thread.

Use Ad Aware. Go to www.download.com and download it, run it and clean out the 10000 ad programs and cookies on your system. The Brilliant "movie viewer" causes exactly the symptoms you guys described...

It doesn't matter is kazaa is open or not, the spyware is still active on your computer causing pop up ads.
You know what really pisses me off, I'm on a T1 here at college, so I could download stuff from Kazaa within a fraction of anyone else, well my school did something on purpose so I can only download at a small fraction of what 56kers can. That sucks.

Sux for you Mark, I dont know what I'd do without Kazaa. Downloading slower than 56K is basicly not having it.
You know whats wierd, the Ads arent popping up anymore, this dang computer has a mind of its own sometimes.

i know how you feel mark. my school's network is real slow so they thought by restricting kazaa speed it would fix the internet speed. it didnt so now i still have a crappy internet connection and can't download anything. oh and i'm getting the popups again even after running ad aware.
what's wierd is the first time i ran the program it was all in english but every time after that it's in german
go figure

Yeah, I don't even use it anymore, what's the point trying to download a movie at .03kbs, that is horrible. Next spring I'm transferring, so looks like I'll have some catching up to do.
Try using Kazaa Lite. Kazaa Lite is Kazaa, minus a few key "features":
- No Adware
- No Spyware
- No banners
- No bitratelimit for mp3 files
- No irritating websites loaded into KaZaA
- No crappy BDE Viewer
- No Bonzi Buddy
- Set up multiple users with the included PseudoTrack tool
