i am trying to activate the account for gmtony55 to be able to post.Any ideas will help.I emailed mark shields.no response.I emailed brad the admis. no response.If you read this and dont know,please email me to let me know somebody actually can read this stuff.

 

sorry, I got your pm, but haven't had time to check in to it. You actually listed a different name for me to check into than the one you just wrote, actually I see what you did, you must have held the shift key, b/c it had %% at the end rather than 55, lol.

I just checked for the user name, and there is none registered to that name, I'd try doing it again. You said something aout not being able to check your email>? If that is the case then I think you have to in order to activate it.

I think when you register, you get a confirmation email. In the email is a link you must click in order for your account to be activated. That is why it won't let you re-register with that user name, because you already have it "saved", you just need to activate it.

Whats wrong with just posting with the user name you're on now?

edit- I just looked up the user name in the moderator control panel and it lists you as "User awaiting email confirmation". So somehow you gotta get to your email and click the link. They do this to prevent people from creating accounts with bogus emails.

 

when I first registered I had my E-mail blocked.I went and unblocked it so I have no way to get to that link.Unless someone sends it to me again.Thanks for your reply.by the way this user account is registered to my wifes email.

 

Well, I can't change your member status, but Dirk or Brad can. You'd have to PM or email them the situation and they can change you to a Registered Member.

 

I've also got a problem with my account. I've emailed and pm'd Brad several times, and not gotten any response.

I've been "alloy" for some time now, and a few days ago I changed my email address for email notices to go to, and now I can't post, get or send pm's. So I had to create another account to be able to get on the board at all.

I've activated my account and all that stuff, and when I look at my posts under alloy I'm not banned or anything like that.

Below is the message I get when I try to post or get into pm's.

Can some fix this for me? I'd sure appreciate it!

Hmm.. when I check alloy, it says you are a user awaiting email confirmation. I think when you change email addresses, they send you an email to the new address with a link to click to confirm. Have you gotten any email like that?

I did get an email like that, and have pm'd you a copy of it.

When I follow the link to confirm my account, here is the message I get.

And at the bottom of the message, it says if all else fails, ask for help.

I wanted to say again I certainly appreciate your trying to help me fix my alloy account.

Just wanted to let you know I emailed and pm'd both Brad and Dirk 9 days ago about the problem I'm having with my alloy account, and neither of them have picked up the pm's. I know this because of the message tracking feature.

What do I need to do to get their attention?

 

No problem at all.

They are both very busy, so it'll take a while for them to read the PMs. They should give a third person, someone trusted, admin privelages to help take some of the load off them.

 

I agree someone else should be there to help. I'm pm'd and emailed both brad and dirk over 17 days ago, and still nothing.

Don't they ever look at their emails? I have pople posting in the forums for "alloy" to pm them because my alloy accout still has that problem that needs to be fixed. And, posting a "alloy please pm me" voilates the rules as I know it, but with my account screwed up how else can they get ahold of me? Not everyone knows I had to create "machinist" to even get on the board.

 

Lol, I've been pming and emailing them for well over a month now for advertising space. I know the pms havent been checked because they have tracking and havent been viewed yet.

 

Yeah I've checked tracking and dirk hasn't picked up my messages, but the ones to brad seem to disapear. Nothing in message tracking. I think he is using "deny receipt" or something like that. I'm not sure what's happening. So when they disapear from tracking, I send them over again so hopefully one day I can tell if he has received it.

It's very frustrating using my "machinist" account. For some reason the cookies seem to "time out" and after about 10 minutes I'm not logged in anymore and can't post or get to my user control panel and have to log in again. I've lost several long messages I've typed because of this.

For the life of me I can't understand why they don't respond to our emails and pm's.

 

Yeah, they are busy from what I hear. I think they really should give someone the ability to change member status. I mean, I can't put people on probation, but I can ban people. Banning people is usually a little to extreme.
