Search BS, someone needs to fix it.

Sorry bu I think its BS that I can't search for 26 spline axels without getting this message.

"The search term you specified (26) is under the minimum word length (3) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer.
If this term contains a wildcard, please make this term more specific.
"

I can really care less why, it should go ahead and search. Never once seen a VBB site do that when searching???

Put an asterik after the first two characters...ie.- 26* then hit search. That should work.

It's a limitation of the board. I set the min. search to 3 characters. Any lower and the search database would have been over 3 gigs in size and unusable.

Every try searching at vbb.com? 4 is the minimum there.

VBB 3.2 should introduce full text searching on the database (instead of having a seperate search table) and once that happens, searches will be great. Right now VBB3 is in beta 6.

ahh...thanks, beautiful. now i know why. i was just curious. does having it without a minimum set of characters result in poor service or operation of the board or i take it that is just the way it works.

The database would have to be HUGE and it would take 20 minutes to search. Just do *90 Camaro if you're searching for something from 1990 camaros or if you're looking for codes or other 2 letter/number things an asterisk is your friend. * * * *

didn't realize that that was what the asterisk is for...... i always hated using the search back when i was looking for information on cc quadrajets.
