Hawaii/Pacific Regional Forum?

This may sound stupid, but I can't find a regional forum for Hawaii - although I know of a Camaro-only Club. Would there even be enough people on the whole board to justify a seperate area forum for us, or do we have to make do? (or three, I just can't find it, I'm an idiot...)

Get everyone you can find in Hawaii to post in here... 2 people doesn't warrant a board Show me a good number and I'll make it happen.

I would like to think that those of us in Hawai'i would LOVE to have an easier time getting information put out... Our own Regional Forum woud be way neat-o, yes? (Must... have... more... support...)

Yeah, it be really useful to organize things down here.

It's not like it's a very far drive from anywhere on the island so it'd be great to have an easy way to get things goin'.

Zip it up, and zip it out.

Sheesh - I know... I'll get a whole bunch of fake accounts and flood the board with requests and we'll have our forum! But seriously, how many people are we shooting for to get this rolling?

Maybe the guys in the clubs here could tell other members about it. I don't know any car guys that still live here.

I really wish we had our own board though. It'd be so much easier to find better shops, organize cruises, and compare who pays the most for their gas. ($2.179 is the cheapest brand-name premium I've seen lately!)

Laters,
Scott

If you're military, (my wife still has her dependant ID from her dad, hee hee) it can get as low as 1.99 for premium, but I usually don't use her card - I pay around 2.04 for premium, but it isn't Cheveron...

If you are authorized to use the military gas station, then use it. Its much better than paying commercial pump price for the same gas.

I use the station at Pearl Harbor and shake my head in disgust at the normal gas prices out here. At least COSTCO is selling gas a competitive prices for the civilian market.

Oh yeah - COSTCO rocks, but I don't have a membership there yet, but I hope to someday shortly. It would be groovy if Sams Club sold gas...

I can find Hawaii on a map, does that count?

Seriously though, everything is expensive there. Luckily for the 3 years that I lived there as the son of an Air Force colonel, I was too young to be bothered with car parts, gas prices, and the like. (about 9yrs old)

Gotta love those rainbow warriors....

Aloha

You got that right! Prices for things online & through catalogs are awesome but we still lose when we pay to get it shipped here

Yeah, really. Summit seems to have a good shipping deal for us, though, so we're looking to order stuff through them if we can't find it cheap here in the speed shops.

I count eight die-hard Hawai'i fans here. Goodnight, I KNOW I see more than eight f-bodies running around, or they'd be so expensive I would've never been able to buy mine...

It ain't very pretty... Primer spots on the hood where I'm trying to control some corrosion, headliner saggy, really needs a bath, too.

No kidding Chevron is like 2.20 for primeium, or higher...
I can't stand paying that much, so if can use the navy base I usually do.

Thats 11 people including myself.

I didn't know there was a local camaro club. I can't drive right now anywayz. So as soon as I can we sould have a local third gen meet, that would be cool. cause I can never find anybody local I can cruz with.

Other than my friends, and one has a 89 fox body
and the other has a dodge quad cab, with a hemi. its pretty new.

My cars are all messed up. The 700R4's on both my 91 Z and 89 IROC are going to break soon (starting to slip and act weird). My 89 RS is completely gutted (does not have a motor right now either lol). Getting my tax returns soon, so will be doing some much needed drivetrain work on the 91 Z. Only junk part is its not cool to work on cars at my Uncle's place anymore (some drama), so I'll be doing it at my house (with ghetto tools!).

One of the Navy guys in my Church just got back from his cruise, he needed some help with his '90 RS. I helped out with what I could, but drat, Abe's Auto Recyclers was closed down due to flooding. But it was nice cruising Waipahu with my car and his, even if it was only to the junkyard and back. I'll see if he wants to get a log-in here so we could add one more name to the pile.

Didn't know there was still support for this thread!

There is a pretty damn good camaro club here, I think the link is - http://www.hawaiianislandcamaros.org/

They're website isn't very good (unless they've done a lot of work to is) but they have some nice cruises. At least from what I hear.

We should get a 3rd gen meet goin' though. I'd be down.

And no kidding on shipping parts here... good lord that sucks! When I head up to WA this summer, I'm coming back with a few suitcases full of parts and junkyard finds!

Laters,
Scott

Also, since this thread is the CLOSEST thing we have to our own forum, does anyone happen to have spare firebird tail lenses? (Or know if any local yards have them and don't want a fortune for them?)

I can't pass any of my vehicles through the safety inspection because of minor chips or cracks. Both my running cars have insurance, but no safety check or registration as of today!

If anyone has a spare good, clean driver's side firebird/formula 85-92 tail lense without any cracks or chips this weekend, I'll pay cash, drive out to pick it up, we can go for a couple stoplight drags, AND I'll bring a case of beer, you're choice of course!

Laters,
Scott

I can't pass any of my vehicles through the safety inspection because of minor chips or cracks. Both my running cars have insurance, but no safety check or registration as of today!

If anyone has a spare good, clean driver's side firebird/formula 85-92 tail lense without any cracks or chips this weekend, I'll pay cash, drive out to pick it up, we can go for a couple stoplight drags, AND I'll bring a case of beer, you're choice of course!

Laters,
Scott

Darn! Too bad you don't have a Camaro instead. I'm trying to get rid of some tail lenses for Camaros And yea, we should try & get a third gen meet up one day for a cruise. Keep me informed if we do get serious about it one day. Laterz.
