Question about the paper clip

Transmission: 700R4 in both cars
Axle/Gears: 3.27 - 3.36 posi in both cars
Question about the paper clip

I tried to get the answer on my own but got nowhere. I'm curious about the paper clip on some threads. Who applies it and what does it mean?

That sounds logical but I see threads with pictures attached that don't have the paper clip.
I thought maybe it was done by the moderators to highlite interesting threads.

if a picture or another type of file in thread is stored at TGO server (uploaded as an attachment) then you see the clip

if it's "linked" from external server then there's no clip symbol...
