SERVER NOT FOUND and TIMEOUT errors
Is anyone else running into this problem? During the day, when I would think the traffic should be the lowest, I almost constantly get "server not found" and timeouts when moving around in the various forums and search screens. And it doesn't appear to be a work related issue, since I get them from home at well. I doubt it's a PC issue either, since its less than a year old and happens on multiple PCs. It makes it really frustrating when one screen comes up in 10 seconds, and the next one times out or erros out after 30 or whatever seconds. Makes it real hard to use the boards.....

i have not seen any timeouts personally, but i'm sure Dirk or Iroc would have more info.
There are slow periods, though. i know that Dirk was logged in and doing some server work lastnight. So hopefully Dirk will get things working more smoothly. If not, atleast the new server should provide relief once Dirk gets to it.
Something to keep in mind, even if it is during the day where you think there would be the least amount of traffic, server load is more affected by what those users are actually doing.
Even if there is a low amount of users online, if there are several of those users who are doing things like searches, that is going to place a larger load on the server than people who are just browsing. It is more about what those users are actually doing, than the amount online.
The server load has been kind of high. At the time of your post, the server load was in the double digits, and it wasn't just a quick spike, as the load history was pretty much high over a small period of time.
