Man I didn't think my post would lead to this. I didn't want to start a fight or anything. I just wanted to mention what I am observing and thought this would be a way to help out other members. I was just saying it would be nice to have a place to find the info on the duke, without searching trough 2 million post that say to swap a v8 in it. And you can't base the popularity of the duke on how many owners there are here. I have a Z28. It's way on the other side of the performace chart. But yet I still have questions about it and want to learn more about that long lost motor that came in are beloved f-body. Plus I don't know what other vehicels came with the motor. So I didn't know what other sites to look at. Plus there not f-body specific on the motor. Adam :-)

Amen to what our supporters have stated. We seem to have a good, heated thread going on here and it's about time the administrators and others begin to accept our standing here. The F-Body was orginally powered by the 151 and still is in many circumstances. I have the 151, I have no complaints, I get great gas mileage, my car is quick (if you dont believe me come on over and take her for a spin) and I would not have another car or engine. I think Wellington has said enough to make you give us our own forum. You are basically being prejudicial like all the others in this board and we are TIRED OF IT. I don't think the world would end with a small space here on Thirdgen.org to give us our deserved space (it will not kill your memory capicity) it would just be a well deserved, long time overdue, place here. How can you really call this site Thirdgen.org without including the original, stock engine??????
WHERE IS OUR FORUM??????????????????????????????????

I wouldn't think the Iron Duke would have enough to turn a thirdgen A/C compressor in the first place.

OK, Just remember when the Sun *** destroys your dash pads and you are desperately looking for an original replacement don't come crying to me. You have worn out your welcome and you definitely don’t belong in this thread about the Duke. If all you are going to do is bash the Duke then do it elsewhere. Have a wonderful day and take a hike to bother someone else.

mine came with A/C. It never worked since I've owned the car...I can't say what it would be like for the firebird, but our family had a little chevette with factory A/C and boy it was near impossible to climb a hill with the A/C on.

you can get a fiero going pretty good with a duke.and the firebird only weighs a 200 pounds more then a stock fiero.

im betting it will be as fast as your average new car with a four banger when im done with it.

but thats plenty for me. gas milage is better then going fast when the speed limit is 70mph and gas $3.
