Someone Please kill the ebay advertising on Engine Tech

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tech...shed-ebay.html

This thread violates forum rules by advertising something that is being sold on Ebay.

When I challenged the Topic Author I get flamed as if I am gender discriminitive. There is no reason this should be allowed to be continued, since she is advertising and her questions were answered.

Thanks.

ShiftyCapone locked the thread. You can either PM a moderator or admin, or use the Report Post feature if you believe a thread needs attention.

I reviewed the thread and I seen more fault than stated. Firstly, she was not the one who supplied the eBay link initially. A member posted the link for those asking. As stated, more information was needed to answer some of her questions.

Member(s) stated that she was warned and her post was modified, but I seen no such in the logs. I could have missed it, but I don't I see how the public knew of such, unless I missed something else.

I posted this topic because no moderators were on that managed that particular Section.

When Shifty came on I PM'ed him and results were produced.

JT,
Post #20 on the ebay thread has that particular member's Person number.

Shifty edited out the few post that has her advertised number. Can you get that last one. As I said earlier. There are alot of weirdos and no need to have her phone number out in the open for people to abuse.

Not really ideal or a thread to be proud of. Reviewing it before and after, there was no moderator or administrator editing of the user's post up until the event of the thread being closed. Confirmed fact from logs.

Therefore, the statement from some that the author of the thread was moderated priorly, and warned, was not correct. In addition, the eBay auction id wasn't initially provided by the author, but by a member, and was requested by members for further details in answering the questions that appeared to be valid.

It seems to me it was a valid question but the thread went downhill with some assumptions and statements that turned out to be incorrect.

Well,
I did not make any comments or said that she has been moderated or warned. I simply stated, that I felt that what she was doing was getting some free advertising. Even so, a rule is a rule. I have been warned and been "moderated" so if I have to follow the rules, and everyone else should as well.

But seriously though, her phone number should be removed. From post #20.

Thanks JT

It was not a "my car is for sale on eBay, click on the link!", or anything of the sort, thread or post. She didn't even provide the link until some time later, when asked. There was questions surrounding a car that just happened to be up for sale on eBay. It probably could have been handled different (information provided directly rather than complying with the request for a link), but on the other side, the other parties could have done different, too. Yes, blatant eBay links to advertise items for sale aren't allowed and is part of the rules for the Classifieds. However, it doesn't appear to me that this was a clear cut case of such.

By the way, I'm not picking on you or singling you out.

Thanks for the notice about the phone number. Removed.

Hey JT, can you PM me her #, she may be hot As far as e-bay advertising goes I think she did no harm. She simply stated a question about the validity of her car and other members gave their opinions and posted the item #. I can see no fault on her person for doing so because she never gave a link or implied that it was for sale on TGO, she was curious about the validity of her vehicle, Chill Cale

Hey we see this stuff every day. I am skeptical. I called it how I saw it. I did not personally attack her and I was at the very most mild. She on the other hand went off on the deep end and got crazy, still I kept my mild manners.

Hey, I did not lose any sleep, and her phone number is removed (not sure what she was thinking) I am all about helping people. I would have answered her question, but that did not envolve ebay links.
