auto image resize compromise
Can we make the auto resize happen if the image is greater than 800x600 rather than 700x525? 800x600 is much more common and is considered the standard size for discussion board image posting. Also, on many image hosting sites, they let you select an 800x600 auto size feature (there is no 700x525 which causes you to have to use a seperate image resizing program, then host the photo). Can we make a compromise? 800x600 isnt much bigger than 700x525 and wouldnt take up hardly any more bandwith or screen size.
This really has nothing to do with size though, its how terrible images look when they are auto resized by the site. Seeing as 800x600 is considered the standard, most posted images wont have to get resized. A lot of people here are posting 800x600 images and then they look horrible after they are auto resized just to make them a bit smaller (700x525). i dont know who came up with 700x525 but i think they shouldve thought it through a bit more.
im sure everyone would agree...can we make a compromise here?
thanks

I agree that id' be nice to change it to a normal size. 800x600 would be a good compromise in my opinion and shouldn't make shrunken images look like crap. Anyone who has a computer hold enough that doesn't use a resolution larger than 1024x768 is going to have more problems than image size. Resizing the image doesn't make it load any faster either, the computer still has to download the complete image before it's resized anyway.

I am aware. Understand that it was *only* 3 days. TGO has a rather active staff and things that need immediate attention are generally worked on rather quickly. This issue was not a critical issue. This decision involves more than 1 person, making it necessary to wait until all parties discuss the matter.
Considering what the logs show as to the percentage of user's screen resolution, we probably will change it.

I don't want to push it, but I bet you could even go to 900 for the resolution. Besides the AD&A, where are there large pictures posted? Even in AD&A there are not a lot of high res pictures posted.
I believe it was set a few days ago. Images that are 800x640 should display true. They do for me. Do they for you? I know a few wanted it even higher, but for now, it appears this is the new size.
