This is frustrating!

My normal user id is DonP.

I updated my email address because I had moved and changed ISPs.

Now, my DonP account is completely restricted from the site. I can't even pm a moderator asking for help. The only way I could think of to contact someone on this board was to create a new account using my wife's email.

Moderators,

Can you please fix my normal account DonP?

If I was supposed to get an activation email, it never made it to my email account. My wife's email is with the same service / configuration and I received the activation email for her account.

Please email me at the email address in my user cp when I can return to the site.

Thanks,

Don

P.S. I saw a sticky about requiring access to your old email account. I haven't had access to that account for 2 years. Why do you send the activation to the old email account? Why not send it to the new email address?

I have fixed your DonP account.

When you updated your email address on your account, the forums automatically "lock" your account until you confirm your email address. You confirm your email address by clicking on a link inside an email sent by the forums. Unfortunately, our email service has been offline. That was the problem.

You may have misread the sticky. When you update your email address, the confirmation email is not sent to your old email address. It is sent to your new email address.

Thanks JT, it's great to be back!

Yes, I guess I misread the sticky.

It's scary when you lose your ability to post. I couldn't find any other way to contact someone other than creating a new account.

Do you think there is a way to have a '911' account; an account that a restricted user could pm or email, in case they get locked out?

Thanks again,

Don
