Any chance you could remove this or put it lower, like 10 seconds?

 

Do a search, it's been brought up before

It used to be 60 seconds and they lowered it to 45. Don't think it'll be going much lower then it is now.

 

Wow there is, see if we didn't have the 45 second then I would have been able to search for it but yea I got the answer. Dang

 

Sorry, but in the immediate future, this cannot be changed. It's there to protect the rest of the environment (forums) because searching a large, and active, website is an intensive process.

It's better to inconvenience the few who are searching at any given time, through the 45 second time out, rather than inconvenience the entire forum while having a "limitless" search.

As time goes on and the search technology improves, as it is currently being developed outside, this may change.
