Separate Camaro and Firebird parts
Hi,
I'm having a hard time finding Firebird only parts on the classified section, because it's overwhelmed with Camaro parts.
It would help a lot if the parts section would be split between Firebirds and Camaros.
I know there are a lot of indentical parts between the two, but there is probably as much different parts.
Thanks

I agree
Its annoying whenever a ramair/cowl hood comes up for sale the first post is always firebird or camaro
How about adding a required field when making a new FS thread in the interior/exterior classifieds. Make it "Fits:" then "Firebird, Camaro, Both". Then a small tag of F or C can precede the thread much like the state. Both can be left blank, F/C, or B
Engine/drivetrain forums seem to interchange nearly always so its not as important

Re: Separate Camaro and Firebird parts
Adding a thread prefix of Camaro, Firebird or Both is certainly easy and possible.
I just looked at the recent few pages of the Exterior parts for sale forum, which covers month-to-date, and the vast majority of those stated Firebird, GTA, Trans Am, Iroc, Z28, RS in the thread title. While there are a few that didn't list the application in the thread title, however, that didn't matter because the item itself was listed in the description and it was clear to know the application (high-rise spoiler, hood blisters, etc.) which are pretty commonly known to fit one make. Firebird didn't have "hood blisters" and the high-rise spoiler was a later Third Gen Camaro item.
We could add the prefix, but I would be concerned it might be redundant in just about all cases that I've seen thus far.
Of course adding a thread prefix that is mandatory would require the seller to list Firebird or Camaro instead of relying on them to list the application in a field (thread title) that cannot be checked by the system.

Re: Separate Camaro and Firebird parts
But....Should it be "it fits" (lots of parts can interchange, but doesn't make them "correct") or that they belong/came on that (Camaro/Firebird) car?
It is a lot like the 4th parts. Some are 100% direct bolt in, others can just be made to fit. Like the 3rd gen Firebird & Camaro seats will bolt up in each other, but like the GTA seats. They never came in Camaros, so they aren't "correct".
