Dirk, can we donate money?

Dirk, i realize that the server upgrades to make it better will cost u some money, and since u do so much work for us and the is probably the best thirdgen site around. And i have noticed that a few other boards have pay pal donate features where people can donate money to the board. the reason i say this is because i want to help the board, and i think ALOT of our members would love to also. if this is the wrong place to post this then its ok to delete it but i would like to know how we\I can help this board.

This done routinely at the montecarloss.com website. I have contributed in the past to that site.

About 9 months ago, sent a message to moderator asking where to send the check and who to write it out to... Never got a reply.

This site has saved me well over $1,000 and countless hours of swearing. I would be glad to contribute to it's continued operation.

I agree, I would donate every now and then. Just put a PayPal link somewhere with options to donate $5, $10, or $20. I'd be happy to help with the HTML for the link if you need it.

About 1 1/2 years ago, the members here (including myself) did donate money. At the time, the site was having money problems. Now there are several advertisers on here, that's how it's paid for. So, I think we'll be alright, and donations will not be neccessary.

Dirk, I would have to say forst I applaud you, in the short time I have been on the baord I would have to say...Outstanding. Then to read that you are refusing money to help run the site, your a better man than I my friend.

Think of it this way...currently there are over 11K members on the website. If each member were to donate a $1

Just think how much faster the future server upgrade would go...

I suspect that Dirk is avoiding asking for donations, because last time that happened, some folks made a big stink about it. They were giving him a bunch of crap about wanting to know where "all of that money" was going. What a headache it must have been.

Dang, this is a long lasting post. From 01 to 06 and still going strong. I would contribute for sure if needed because I love this site for all the helpful info, the great members, and the parts I can buy and trade, and sell so I can finish my projects. TGO ROCKS

If donations are needed, just ask. I know I for one will chip in. I love this site.
