Re: Sub Replacements for UQ7

You should be able to measure it easily with a multimeter.

No markings for that on mine either.

Not wanting to damage my UQ7 amp, I elected to rebuild what I had, rather than replace. That may not always be an option for folks. I did not measure mine while they were out.

Post 45 and up will give you some idea what the impedance is on the 4x6s and the Subs.

Re: Sub Replacements for UQ7

Indeed, I missed the post where the subs were measured at 7.7 Ohms (10 Ohms)

So here's the speaker setup :

Front : 2 x 4x6" 10 ohms - PN 16033662
Rear : 2 x 4x6" 4 ohms - PN 16031000
Subwoofers : 2 x 4.5" 10 ohms - PN : 16040892

I had a pair of small subwoofers but sadly they are 4 ohms. I'll have to source some other ones.

Re: Sub Replacements for UQ7

Revived from the dead !!

I searched Google and Yahoo for speaker PN 16031000 and got no results,.... when I searched TGO this was the only thread to choose from !

I've been putting off dealing with the UQ7 system in my ride because,... well: I guess I had more important things to do. I don't have much to add to the info in this thread but wanted to post so that some additional Part numbers might be helpful. Last January I found a 86 Fiero GT in the boneyard; under 80K and a complete car. I was sitting in the car the day after it was released and 1 of the things I pulled from it was the UQ7 speaker set-up. I didn't get the SUB-Box,... but took everything else. (The Fiero UQ7 only had 1 SUB; I have not yet been able to see if a Fiero AMP will work properly on a Firebird system.)

Rear, 4-OHM PN = 16048242 :
SUB-Woofer, 4-OHM PN = 16041072 :

4x6 Speaker has harness that appears to match no only the connector, but also the length. SUB Woofer appears to be a direct match/fit; exception is a missing mounting spacer / pad. ( this pad *might* have been left on the SUB-Box or damaged,.... I can only say for sure that it's missing from the pic. ) Note: the cone is a different type/style than the Firebird version.

I don't know how I will proceed yet,... all 3 SUBs I have are crap and I haven't checked the rear 4x6's or the fronts yet. But; at least there are a couple more speakers in existence ( somewhere - maybe - I hope ! ) that can be used as bolt-in replacements.

Raptor: I am re-posting your info WITH CORRECTION so it might get 'tagged' with the pictures.

Front : 2 x 4x6" 10 ohms - PN 16033662
Rear : 2 x 4x6" 4 ohms - PN 16031000
Subwoofers : 2 x 5" 4 ohms - PN : 16040892

* I always took the info here for granted because the wire lead from the terminal to the speaker cone in my Trans Am Subs was broken. Today I used a pair or alligator clips to make a closed circuit and checked for OHMs,.... and found:

** Search Online auctions for " fieropartsaustralia " for new replacements SUBs.
** Sent an E-Mail to rodney@rodneydickman.com to find out if his replacement Fiero SUBs might be compatible
