Not the statey's, locals in my suburb lol. I drove this particular ThirdGen home 73mi on the highway, with no sightings, and I believe the previous owner ran straight pipe as nothing is currently installed beyond the cat. I mean, the growl is mean and lovely but i don't know how it'll effect the engine running it like this so the cat back system should be here by Friday. I saw these http://www.ebay.com/itm/STAINLESS-ST...BV27zm&vxp=mtr El-Cheap-O Headers and it has me reaching for my wallet. Will these fit in your opinion?
Trust me, do not do the ebay ones. The thing I do with ebay now is buying computer parts for repairs of looking for OEM parts that are hard to find. Other than that I've really become disappointed with ebay. You live in Ohio .. Take a cruise to the summit store grab yourself a set of summit branded headers for 120.00 bucks, boom your set. The headers that are actually on my car now in that video are coming out and look like crap but are fine their is nothing wrong with them at all. I'm going with silver ceramic coated street long tubes.
I'm checking into Summit now, although the cheapest i've found thus far on their site is $150 for Flowtech's. If I find summit branded ones for less i'll buy but if not, I may have to go with the El-Cheap-O's, or shell out the extra $30 bucks. The El-Cheap-O's going at $88 w/ free shipping leave room in the budget for other odd & ends. Plus I only want them to look good when i pop my hood to match my shiny engine dress up kit, not for me to go all "Kye Kelley" down the main street lol
Summit has there brand for i think 118.00 buck's I'd much rather have those than the ebay ones. They may look good for a short time but trust me they won't look good for long. I had a friend that bought the ebay header for his 4 cylinder car he thought was fast but paid around 60 bucks or so and literally 3 months later he was at summit picking up a DC Sports header . It completely rusted out. Those hooker headers on my car looked amazing when first put in but I didn't have the money at the time and I went cheaper. They are the stainless but look kinda like crap now but still work well. http://www.summitracing.com/oh/parts...model/firebird here ya go
I sure am getting tired of this rain. I have yet to make it to the track this year and not get rained out. Im hoping that one of these upcoming weekends i can go racing again.
Ive driven the car a good 500 miles since my th350 rebuild that i did myself and its doing well. Im very happy with it and the new rims and tires i got on it. Hooks much better. I can still blow off the drag radials on the road but at least Im not doing 40 mph rolling burn outs anymore.... Here is a updated pic of the rims and tires.
Anyone else heading to the track soon? Im hoping for a good pass the first weekend out. My hopes are 11.30s we shall see though. I finally have frame connectors and tubular lca's along with a slightly larger shot of n20 to help my horrid 60 foot times which were a dissapointing 1.70s last year while i was running mid and high 11s. Thats pretty damm sad. But it was bone stock back there and the turbo is laggy so the n20 adder helps and I know that the frame connectors will really help stiffin it up.
Hello from another Ohioan. Just signed up here, nice forum.
Grew up in Lorain County and now living in West Park/Cleveland.
We flipped. I grew up in West park my whole life and recently when I got married moved out to Lorain County to get out of Cleveland. It's starting to get to bad with all the theft and crime going on all over the city. But I still claim my west park home . I still claim cleveland as my home. Growing up my dad being a cop we had to live in Cleveland.
Also Fasteddi I agree with the crap a$$ weather it's been cold and rainy Zero fun. Guess it gives myself and my car more garage quality time to finish a few things and Eventually get the new tires on the car. Hopefully these BFgoody's don't let me down.
Another Ohioain, from Canton. the rain here recently has made it hard for me to keep my baby clean
Looks good. That white pops nice. Re-paint recently ? or just one hell of a wash/wax ?
Mine goes in in 2 weeks for a repaint I was going to do it myself but I just do not have the time to prep paint and all that other nonsense
Also If you have another car snag some Historical plates for that beast so you can ditch the front plate.

Original Paint and a nice hand wax! I'd go with historical plates but i drive my car for recreational purposes, no parades and car shows yet. maybe next year Il change them and see if i get pulled over what color are you painting your 3rd gen?
I added the subframe connectors finally still working on tuning for wot
also picked up another stall converter will be installed soon
picked up all the bearings and seals to rebuild both of my 9bolt rear axles
good to see more guys from Cleveland on here
NE ohio people, we are meeting tomorrow at John's house for another impromptu gathering. I know it's fathers day, but we are going to meet at 11 am in Willoughby.
Just ordered this bad boy and have an interview for a new job. If all goes well, I'll be back on the road again. I so need a cruise with you guys. Or a meet-up. Anyway, I'm messaging Azrael to see if he'd like to help this poor guy revitalize his Camaro once again...some weekend or two from now.
Looky what I got today and is going in tomorrow. Stop on over Azrael. PMing my address.
After the Champion Radiator sprung a leak after 1 year use...I now jumped into American Eagle Radiators (as I'm told their higher quality, and more reliable with 1" tubes)

I took my car to the track a couple weeks ago for some test runs. It did pretty decent. My best was an 11.61, had my wife in the car with me. Was also babying it out of the hole, the 9 bolt isn't all that reliable at this point.I bet it has low 11's in it if I really went all out with the tune and the launch.
We should set up a meet at a somewhat central location like summit racing. Anybody want to gather on a sunday? I could do a saturday but it would have to be 7-8 at night, I work until 6.
I hear ya CM. I'm getting back on the road soon hopefully. Wednesday is my interview which'll tell me if we'll be doing more work or looking for more work.
Speaking of looking for work. Anyone have some sheet-metal, bender and drill? I need a custom radiator support. My new radiator no matter the trimming won't fit with the stock plastic support. Anyone know of any aftermarket brackets that'll work? Just need something simple. For now, the radiator is resting on the power steering lines. Adios for now. She's still charging in the garage. Hopefully by dinner she'll start. Right now (even with a 100A Quick Jump) it's just activating the solenoid. I hope to get my charging issues dealt with this year. Thinking my MSD 160A isn't doing the job it should be.
Ok anyone in ohio, Locally around Cleveland area that has a ECM, maybe some injectors ? or even a 350 L98 with wiring and ecm they'd like to get rid of ? Let me know I'm interested ASAP
So long as all goes well I'll finally be installing the GM Astro Steering Shaft (mod/upgrade) and metal bearing tomorrow. That and/or calling Mufflers 4 Less to have my exhaust re-aligned so it comes out the back straight; or to see if they'll bend the tips to angle towards the corner of the back bumper.
If you want hit me up with a message. Maybe we can do a quick meet tomorrow after all work is done. Adios for now.
Exhaust leak fixed and tailpipes straightened. We may work on the Steering Shaft tomorrow. We'll see how the weather holds up.
The mod box is getting lighter.
Astro Steering Shaft
Hoodpins (90+mph makes for a crazy shaky hood)
E-brake cabling (all new components from handle to drums)
Rear SS Brake Hose (felt I might snap/twist the F-R line so I never installed it)
Then we buy some new goodies. Starting with a front end alignment kit, new tires, painted wheels and a new steering wheel setup. Looking for a quick release with hub spacer and deep dish wheel. See you guys soon.
I don't even have the ebrake cables for mine
buy the front end kit off rock auto stainless for line is only good if you plan on driving in winter or for looks
My 84 Z28 came from Voss Chevrolet, rust free still too! Its black T-top 5 speed LG4 radio delete, let me know if any of all know of someone owning a car like that around that area! PM me for VIN if you know someone that had that car.

I have a set of 30lb injectors if you still need some.
My car did okay this year at the track. 11.35 with a 1.51 60 ft was my best. We still have a mild tune on the car so that's not bad. This spring i'll try to make the car more reliable before we push it down into the 10's.
I can't help but laugh at our cars stock suspension sometimes. Straight up TRUCKS! I've even lightened my front end by about 100+lbs, it sits high as hell lol.
I'm definitely pumped for next years meets. Since I'll be able to join reliably this time. And, I need friends to help me work on the bigger projects and things I have no understanding...aka tools for so a must it is.
P.S. Although, weather is still kind of nice right now. ;P ;P

The more weight you take out of the front, the higher it's going to sit. I did the same thing with my car. I had to use 1.5 inch drop springs in just the front to get it back down.
Are there any t56 experts in Northeast Ohio who would be willing to help look through my t56 gears to help me determine if they are acceptable to reuse? I tore this transmission apart thinking I just needed to do a basic upgrade, and now it looks to be a bit more. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
Steve
I am a new member from North Canton, OH.
My son and I are restoring an 89 Camaro RS.
It is in good shape but has a few problems we are working out.
It is mostly stock but we pulled off the cat and pollution control & she runs better.

Welcome to TGO. There are lots of cruise ins and events in the Canton area during the driving season. Hope to see your RS out next season. Not too many 3rd gens in the area. I am in the Canton area also.
Thanks! We are looking forward to this white stuff being gone and warm weather again. Once the weather breaks, we have some serious cleaning to get our RS ready. We are new to the classic car seen and don't "show" the RS at all. The paint needs some major detailing and interior needs some work. There is nothing impressive under the hood, just the stock 305, but were have dreams for her.
