LTX and LSXPutting LT1s, LS1s, and their variants into Third Gens is becoming more popular. This board is for those who are doing and have done the swaps so they can discuss all of their technical aspects including repairs, swap info, and performance upgrades.
Hello all I just wanted to share my build so far with a link to an album as I don't have a build thread. The car is a 91 Firebird Formula that had a 5.0 TBI & an automatic that started out as a engine a transmission only swap that grew a lot. After seeing BADNBLK build thread it inspired me to go much further. See album for more, Pictures are always good. Enjoy!!
My LS1 is mocked up in the engine bay just like yours and I had to move the #8 coil to prevent it fron putting a hole in the AC box. Did you have that problem?

You're not imagining things, it will punch a hole. I modified the bracket to move the coil.

I didn't have that problem as I used the Holly engine mounts and trans cross member which eliminates that problem. it is a great system and I highly recommend it. They also make a really nice set of swap headers and true duel exhaust system.
Did the car/engine bay get painted as well? Lookin good
Gettobird52, yes I painted the whole under side of the car and the engine bay as well. Thank you! I'm happy with the way it came out. If you look at the link to my album in the first post you will see most of what I did to the car.
Looking good... I am cleaning and painting the bottom of my car.... hard to keep motivated.
Thanks! it is a lot of work but it is very rewarding when you are finished and it protects the car and make it last that much longer. keep going you can do it!
