How do I lock in these Louvers?

I recently bought the plastic Louvers for my 89 Iroc of off Ricks Camaros. All they came with was soft washers. How am I supposed to lock them in? I had one fly off today, it didn't break but it got scratched up. $200 gone already :/

A speed nut. It's self threading onto the plastic studs. It's not a solid nut like usual but a sort of bulged stamped piece with a slotted hole that twists onto the stud.

When you install them with the speed nuts be very careful not to tighten them. You only want them touching the surface that they are bolting to. If you try to tighten them down you will cut the stud off or strip the usable plastic off.

You take all the studs off and replace them with bolts, nuts, washers, and rubber pads. Mine are factory though and the whole project cost me like $10.

Re: How do I lock in these Louvers?

Why rely on adhesive. If the studs are broken drill a pilot hole and use self threading sheet metal screws. I use m5 flange head torx screws (I use them a lot. My cars are full of them for securing brackets and what not)

Quick answer is Loctite epoxy, but for the full write up here is my thread listing what I did and products I used. Thread was posted in 2014 so you'll have to scroll down to post #7 for the pics.
