If I mount the coils under radiator support, that's what my longest will be. Opinions? I know shortest is best, but can't' seem to get them any closer. Anybody did this?
Yes. Plenty. I think I'll mount them there. I could possibly mount to the block in front of the motor mounts, with a 2 top, 2 bottom approach. I guess I'll run what I have mounted now and see
Ah I see what you mean now. Length isn't going to hurt you that much. I would be more worried about road debris. These coils can crack pretty easily if impacted by anything.

OK thanks. Just a fair weather driver/track car. Your right, I dropped one not far and it cracked on the plug boot end. Might add some partial cover for them

Exactly. I dropped one on my workbench and broke off the plug end.
I would be concerned with the free wire length from the coils to the motor.
There was a super modded C4 Lingerfelter vette that had coils mounted under the motor somehow. Looked super clean. I would look for other motor centric mounting locations if I was you.
I will be doing an LS3 swap soon on my build and will be looking to hide them as well, so I understand.
I had one break just removing the spark plug wire.... so now I have 7 extras of the rectangular truck coils if you guys need replacements or spares. Had them for sale for years.... please take them so I can free up some shelf space. LOL!
Just can't bring myself to toss them in the garbage because as soon as I do somebody will say, Oh! I would have bought those!
Because of location. It's a low spot on the car, in the front. The only "protection" they will have is the air dam, but if you accidentally get too close to a parking stop, or a curb, you're going to have a bad day. I would try to mount them on the side of the block, or even the side of the oil pan, they will be out of the way of everything, short plug wires, and hidden
