front wheel fitment.

Hi, i searched the forum and didn't quite get a definitive answer.

Is there an OEM swap/salvage or off the shelf aftermarket solution for fitting 4th gen and/or C5 wheels on the front of our 3rd gen cars. I am cool with the 4th gen rear diff swap to get the back wheels on, but what about the fronts - NOT using spacers.

I need bigger rubber. 245/45/16's don't last/aren't fast, need to go 275's on a 17 or 18.

thanks

Re: front wheel fitment.

Short answer, no.

You need large bolt on spacers, or find some other wheel

Only other options require extensive modification to the car to fit a different suspension design to fit the wheels.

You could have a custom hub made, and use a very high offset rotor to match the brake offset or some other method. This is expensive as well, last set of custom hubs I had done were nearly 750$ all said and done.

Re: front wheel fitment.

There are several direct fit 3rd gen wheels that will give you what you want, but none work with 4th gen rears.

Re: front wheel fitment.

If you aren't willing to use spacers, then you won't find any OEM wheels that will work for this. There are plenty of aftermarket options though. Paul_Huryk can set you up with the CTW wheels which work on a thirdgen and fit 275s. There are also options available through Year One, Classic Industries, Hawks, local tire stores, etc for 17 and 18 inch wheels that will fit 275s. There are even posts in this forum about what is required to fit 315s on all 4 corners. Question is how much do you want to spend to go to a bigger tire. This applies to both the wheels and the tires. Each bump up in size carries additional cost.

Re: front wheel fitment.

thanks for the input. this is what i thought, however, i guess i just wanted to make 100% sure. Yes, the money to performance ratio is one we have all lived by. my favorite saying is "Cheap, Fast, Reliable, choose 2"...and personally i will abstain rather than risk a DNF. I will be calling Paul as this makes the most sense from my perspective. The Toyo RR 275-40-17 and the CTW wheel will bolt on and be competitive. Thanks again..Merry Christmas!

I’m running C5 rear rims all around. 275/35/18 up front and 275/40/18 on the rear. I have a 4th gen rear and 2 inch spacers up front. Been running the spacers for almost 3 years with zero issues or vibrations.
