Re: Convertible top parts needed to bring top down
What parts exactly? The top and tonneau (cover) are both manually operated.
-Unlatch from the front header (two manual latches)
-release rear bow from the tonneau (handle on the inner driver side of the tonneau)
-then lift the back of the top straight up
-open tonneau (center switch in center console)
-lower the back of the top into the well
-fold the front of the top back
-lower the tonneau back down.
Re: Convertible top parts needed to bring top down
I looked at this and was confused myself.. There are members on here that sell used convertible parts.. you could probably find what you need if you can narrow down the parts you need..
Many of these cars have tonneau release issues but usually the top frame holds up pretty good..
Re: Convertible top parts needed to bring top down
So you need the slider and rod assembly to pop the rear of the top up? If you pull the rear seat down you can manually pop the top and pull the back window up. You should then be able to pop the tonneau and unlatch and lower the top.. If the tonneau doesn’t pop from the switch there is a manual way to pop that as well, but I’ve never had to deal with that..
Re: Convertible top parts needed to bring top down
I bought a 89 IROC at an auction and trying to get it halfway decent to store until I have time to restore it. Does anyone know where to get this? Both the driver and passenger side or busted. Is this common on these cars? has anyone had these welded back together by chance?
