Unknown wiring harness

I had a new engine installed and with the swapped engine a lot of the emissions equipment was removed or not re-installed. With that in mind there are a male and a female wiring harness that look like they fit together but am not sure what they do. Anyone have an idea what they are for and maybe it was an oversight not connecting them? They are located on the passenger side of the engine toward the back of the motor between the distributor and blowe motor. Pictures are included.

Re: Unknown wiring harness

You kind of answered it for yourself. The gray connector is power to the fan, the flat black connector is the link between the HVAC harness inside the car, and the HVAC/Engine harness under the hood.

Fan as in to blow air into the passenger area or cooling fan? I ask because my car is equipped with the dual fans up front. The cooling fan harness has two connectors coming from it but I have only been able to plug one connector into a female connector. The other connector from the cooling fans I don’t see another female to match it to. Because if this only one fan seems to be running on engine start. I was told the other turns on when it gets to a certain temp but I don’t understand why the second connector doesn’t have a place to plug into.
