I guess I have a lot to learn about these. I thought the B4C cars were RSs, not Z28s?

And you would be absolutely correct. B4C cars are indeed RS cars, not Z28's. Wolf in sheep's clothing so to speak...

You think all those holes bored in the dash come free? Sheeeeit son, that's custom! You can't just grab a Black n Decker and start blowing holes in a dash. That's how you prove the provenance of this ride's authentic beater usage history with law enforcement.

$26k and they can't be bothered with trivial things like cleaning up the carpet?

I don't know, it's either not a B4C, in which case it's a beater Z28 with a service history about like a Taxi... Or it's a B4C that's been rode hard, put away wet, and majorly horked over to add Law Enforcement gear, and to make it look like a Z28. Kind of defeats the purpose, and I would say kills the value too.

That dash harness must be something special after all of these years.

Re: The very FIRST B4C built?

If the car is the same one in the article it could be a real B4C. Adding the hood blisters and high rise spoiler is simple. The headlight buckets not painted black and grill are from an RS.

Re: The very FIRST B4C built?

Adding hood blisters I could see. But I would suspect there would be some mounting hole differences between the duck bill on the RS and the high rise Z28 piece. So now you are filling, and painting, on top of buying those parts from GM. That's a lot of department money pissed away for no reason. Not saying it couldn't/didn't happen, but just seems unlikely. I guess I'd want to see that SPID.

Looks like the blisters were added after department use.

Re: The very FIRST B4C built?

It could be a horked over B4C, or a Z28, either way I'm not seeing that kind of value. It's a project that someone is gonna have to un-hork (highly specialized technical terminology). Between choosing to un-hork a pile, and just buying a nice original... Well most people will go for the nicer car, especially in this price range, before buying the basket case.

Re: The very FIRST B4C built?

The majority of B4C's are "horked" over. Not too many of them that haven't been butchered up. Mine seemed like it was all original till we started digging into it. You can hide a lot of **** on these cars and I am learning it the hard way. This car is worth 5k IMO. A nice low mileage original B4C with, 1LE, and an LB9 5 speed combo is the most desirable to me and that's what I would pay 25k for.

Re: The very FIRST B4C built?

The early B4C cars did not even have the 1LE brakes. This car has the Z28 blisters, but I am not sure if it has a Z28 hood or not, as I thought you could put them on an RS hood, they just stuck up more.

Never seen a B4C with the high rise spoiler tho... not worth $25K... But even if it was a police car, they may have been well maintained, but they were beat the crap out of...
