Sarasota. It was sitting in a strip mall parking lot on Beneva Rd. Sitting all by it's lonesome, away from door dings. I was working, so no picture. It had red interior & was a 5.7. Stock wheels & lame, legal window tint.

Just the other day, I ran across a black 88 or 89 Iroc with the red & black stripes. Looked so good, as I had not seen one with that color combo in years. Mine HAD to have the blue & black stripes. More rare in my area back when they were everywhere. I miss those days.
I like the black/blue strip combo better. I may just ignore the SPID code and go that route, lol but your car is so nice. it gives me inspiration.
I was noticing that in the Color-Trim chart in the 1989 model year , different color combinations, where blue came with the gray decal while red had the the red decal. But, interesting that with black interior, I should only have the Blue/Gray combo, unless I'm reading the chart wrong. My car was missing the stripes and decals so I'm not sure. My SPID shows 81A.

100% original paint. The only mod was to replace the falling head liner. Local upholstery shop did a bang up job with that. The rear hatch window tint is in strips, so that is going to be removed & replaced with 4% limo tint in one big piece. Door windows, too.
Here is a closer picture of paint. Coming off the transporter. 4 wheel discs.
The bulb has been replaced. See the rear fascia just above the exhaust tips has been melted away. Have to replace that, so a full repaint will happen. Not dealing with mis matched panels on my Iroc. Which kind of stinks, because the 29 year old paint looks pretty darn good.
Talked to Hoyt's Upholstery's painter about repainting the car. He took copious notes, walking around the car 3 times. Never contacted me with a price & never answered any of my emails or calls. So... I will contact Corvettes West about them painting the car. I have the decals, stripes & all the emblems. Just have to get the rear fascia & I'll be set. Need a good car painter. I figure Vette owners are picky, so the painter there has to be good. Of course, I will thoroughly check him out before hand.
This picture is from the for sale ad. Note the pass side rear spoiler. See how it's not lined up? Driver's side is perfect. That will get addressed during paint.
Note the white spot between the hatch glass & the spoiler. Clear is gone & paint is so thin there that primer is visible. Needs paint.
Note the healthy scratch coming from the pass side head light cove. And those are all flaws in the paint, not dust. I replaced the grille so that looks almost good. There is a run on the side of the o. Still think that, Sir?

Interesting you mentioned about Vette shops and owners - was thinking the same as there is one near me in New Port Richey. Having a factory type finish is what I would like to attain. The drivers side of mine looks like new, but the rest has all the clear worn off from sitting exposed...real bad.
I never let any of my F bodies sit in the sun all day. I have driven my Birds to work from time to time. Always put them under 2 water proof & dust proof covers. Never drive them during summer & the rainy season. Neither car has ever been down a wet road.
One problem with the 3rd gens as far as being affected by weather is the discoloration of the front fascia. Ugly option of putting a bra on it...had a red 88 that you can almost say it was 2-tone because of this.
The only time I put a bra on my Birds is when I drive them on the interstate. Want the front fascia protected from high speed sand blasting. I keep them highly clayed & waxed, so the wax provides a barrier. As soon as the car is back in the garage, the bras, that includes mirror bras, come back off. Have to say that the Birds have clean noses, unlike my Iroc. Once I get it painted, it will get the same bra treatment. Never leave a bra permanently on as it has shown to cause discoloration, time & time again. The paint needs to breathe freely to look its best.
Any 3rd Gen meets in the near future in the Ft Lauderdale/Miami area? Or maybe just an F body meet? Or even an American muscle car meet? I have a friend with a 77 Trans Am 6.6 that he's having restored and we are looking for places to park our Trans Am's and BS with other owners.

October 13th I hope everyone can make it to Ft. De Soto park for the Florida Third Gen Meet. My car doesn't run but I WILL BE TOWING IT THERE. I hope everyone who can make it will be there. My very first meet in 2004 is my SIG PIC at the exact location. We had probably 50 cars or more that day. In 2012 we had another Third Gen meet and we opened it up and had probably 30 or more cars there. DON'T MISS OUT!!!

Roger that Kry. I have a navy blue ws6 with an Iroc spoiler on it, a red Trans Am Firehawk with the Iroc spoiler, both 2002s. Also a 1989 Iroc Z, black with the blue & nearly invisible black stripe. They are all 3 toys that only see sporadic driving. Always an Fbody fan, so your Bird will stand out to me. I might be working, driving a brown truck, or driving my 2002 S10, pewter in color.

Anybody need anything? Engine harness from a 91 Trans Am GTA 350 Auto car. Missing the positive battery cable and the coolant temp sensor connector on the pass side head broke. A new pigtail for that connector and it'll be new.
Also have a full TPI intake and AUJP memcal w/ 7730 ecu
Just picked this up today. Got a good deal on the whole car and it was right down the street from me. Cammed ls1 and viper geared t56. Only 78k miles. Now comes the fun part.
Been a long time since I've posted here. But I got a 2005 LH6 5.3 for free. So I'm working on getting that into my car, but I also might be getting my hands on a 2010 6.2 L92.
Well got this all done in a days time at the shop. Mocked up the swap harness on the engine before dropping it in. Fought with the engine to get it seated but finally got it. Tomorrow Hopefully I'll be able to crank it!
