Thanks. Not exactly the Pro Touring hood by Harwood. It's the ZL1 hood made by Hawk's. They look identical. I went with Hawk's because I had a cowl hood from Harwood that I wasn't too happy about. It was very flimsy.

 

Ive got the harwood on mine. Thought it looked familiar. My favorite hood by far, and ive had a few.

The only problem i had with mine was the little plastic bezel. I had the car sitting in the sun , and the bezel melted.

I had FSTFBDY make me one out of aluminum.

Yeah the same thing happened to me. I noticed mine was warped from the heat too. Your new one looks really nice. I like it.

 

Anyone know of any tuners in the Orlando/Tampa area? I got a mail order and it just isn't working out.

 

Is yours a harwood hood like loneroads? or is yours a 3rdGen SS hood?

Might be something else not working correctly, do you have an ALDL conection to see?

I have an 88, go figure I'm just tired of trying to track down what the problem could be (possibly my work or the tune itself). I'd rather just drop it off and it magically would be done for some kind compensation. Anyone know of any backyard guys looking to make a few bucks in the central/west FL area?? I believe I got the tune from TPIchips.com. I emailed them and they said if I do a datalog, they will look into whats happening. The only problem was, I couldn't get Tunerpro to save the file after I datalogged.

 

Does the S. Fla group ever meet out at Countyline Dragway ?

well I just changed my clutch out on my camaro and did it at place here in Miami called Garage-Yourself and I have to say it was awesome! I went in there and everything that I needed was provided...the owner was a great guy and even went out of his way to give a helping hand to every customer there. Did the clutch job without having to break my back and he takes care of Military guys. They even have a Dyno and he said 50 bucks and you can run it there would be a great meet up place on weekends for anyone here in south flroida. here are some pics of me working there on my ride

 

Anyone in the Tampa Bay area have a 10 bolt axle with disc brakes? looking for the earlier ones with 10.5 rotors...

I have one from an 84 T/A. I'm rebuilding it with heavier stuff to run in one of my cars. What exactly do you need?

 

The housing / backing plates, etc...
My 91 Formula came with drum brakes, I got all new 28 spline axles, truetrac carrier, LPW cover and brace... my stock one, the posi is working good, but it's got 150k miles and the brakes started making noise / locking 1 wheel, etc... I figured I would upgrade to disc and get it all redone at the same time...

That's my scenario as well. I wanted to start with a 3rd gen disc brake housing and then upgrade everything else from there.

I always work on my car myself but tearing apart a transmission is not something I really want to dive into and I don't trust just anyone. Any help would be great! thanks, Patrick

 

is it a T5? if so there's an excellent video online on rebuilding them. pretty simple. trans shops are all rip-offs.

May be too late...just joined, but if you need any classic car trans work done near Sanford Fl. Doc's Transmissions is the guy to go to. He is at the intersection of 17-92 and Ronald Reagan Blvd (427)....In gray building on southeast corner behind the Lincoln/Mercury dealership.
The guy is a wizard with the TH350, TH400, 700r, and 200r......and extremely fast and cheap!

You pull and take trans to him...turn around less than 2 days. I farm out all my trans work to him.

Gotta get my TA in better shape (and get a tag on it) before im out and about anywhere.

I just joined a local Pontiac club too. It's called Wide Track Warriors. $24 per year. Lots of guys with lots of older Ponchos. They have a few guys that have 1st and 2nd gen TAs, not many 3rd gens though.
