No Injector Pulse?
I had my engine swapped from a 305 to 350 TPI, have the correct 22lb injectors and had the memcal programmed for the 350. Before the motor was out, the mechanic put the memcal back into the ECM, and when he tried to start the car to move it out of the garage, it cranked but would not start. After the motor was swapped and ready to fire up, it did the same thing, cranked but would not start. The distributor is brand new, and I gave him another memcal to try and it did the same thing. The next thing we are going to try is replacing the ECM, I found a used one and hopefully that works. But if this does not work, what should be the next step, and any idea of why this happened? Thanks!

Was vats deleted from the tune ?, can you mechanic see distributor reference pulse with a scammer ? The actual rpm signal from icm to ecm in datastream ? Spark consistent ? What year your 89 ?

Yes VATS was deleted, and it is an 89. As far as your other questions, I don't know, I'll have to ask the mechanic about those things.

He's going to check it with a scanner and see what comes up. And he might try another distributor. Said it could possibly be a pinched wire. I'm thinking its something with the wiring near the ECM? I'm so fed up with this car, if he can't figure it out I'm prob going to scrap it.

Might find a more competent mechanic or work on it yourself.

Re: No Injector Pulse?
I'm bringing it home on a trailer this weekend, I have a few people in mind that can help me out with it. The problem around this area is no garages around here will work on it and don't know how to work on these cars.

Re: No Injector Pulse?
Start with verifying spark and that your tach works while cranking . Then check for power while cranking at icm pink wire. Then if you don’t have a scanner to see crank rpm through the aldl stream you might replace the icm in the distributor.
