Re: 1989 G92 IROC-Z, near twin of my black car.

This car is more up my alley than the 350 for $11k..

Black and stick shift.. G92 N10

I’m a little bummed the door skins aren’t original..

I have a feeling it’s got some dings and some rock chips on the nose.. looks pretty good in pics..

Hopefully no rust bubbles in the wheel wells..

I like the car a lot for the right price

Yeah, me too. Cool car, but the door panels, steering wheel and a few other things are bothersome to me as well.

Would The Cats Removal Cause A Problem For The New Owner With DMV/Inspection?

The black car is 50k miles less than the red '89 in the other post, but there are so many things wrong with both of them that have me wondering what else is being hidden. Whoever buys either car needs to really inspect both of them well as I bet there's a lot of hidden issues.

There is a yearly safety inspection in NY for cars older then 25 years. This car would not be subject to an emissions inspection.

I guess when you actually state in your ad that you are "not a motivated seller", you have created a self fulfilling prophesy.

Pretty silly to put that in an ad really.. “guess I’m not a motivated buyer!”

Huge turn off when I see that.. or the:

”Price is firm, don’t need to sell”

I call BS.. Why make an ad then? I’d never make an ad for my car unless I intended on selling it..

His fantasy probably went something like this:

Him: Although I went to the trouble of creating and posting a sales ad, I am not a motivated seller.

Sucker: OMG, I saw your ad and see you are not motivated to sell, will you take 20,000? 30,000? 50,000?

Him: Oh.....I don't know.....

Sucker: 100,000??!!!!?????!!!!

Him: Oh.......okay......

No emission test but:
Note that on 75 and up cars the cat must be in place

Re: 1989 G92 IROC-Z, near twin of my black car.

The reason for stating that is because everybody thinks we live in Tijuana and all prices are subject to negotiation. I wouldn't have an issue saying that I'm not forced to sell or need to sell. That should let buyers know that my asking price is my asking price and I don't HAVE to sell, so don't bother low balling me. I have my '13 Roush listed for $36k and idiots have contacted me asking if I'd take $28k. If I'm willing to take $28k, I would list it for $28k!!! Since I don't have to sell it, a low offer won't even be considered.

It's one thing to post an ad and say price is firm, it's another to post an ad and say "I'm not a motivated seller".

I do respect people that make the case for their price.. they have the media and documentation to back
up their assessment and state that the price is fair and not negotiable..

By saying “not a motivated seller” it’s almost like you’re saying, “bribe and beg me to
sell my car..”

As we all know, when you buy or sell a car, you do a delicate kabuki dance. When you say that, in that way, in your actual sales ad, it's like you paid to go to the dance but you tell everyone you don't want to dance. And then what happens is, no one asks you to dance.
