So I knew my ac compressor was going out so I kept an extra belt in my car just in case the clutch failed and after replacing the belt now the entire pulley seized. To get the car home I put on a belt that says it's for the car about 9 inches shorter with no A/C and it fit but the belt is very close to rubbing on itself near the top of the water pump pulley. Will this become a problem in the future and is that how it's supposed to be after bypassing the compressor or is there some kind of replacement pulley to put in place of the compressor with a full sized belt. it worked to get home and I don't see any rubbing but I want to know if there's a better way to delete the ac.
