Engine Swap 305 tbi-LS1

Does anyone know of a good place in houston to find an inexpensive complete LS1 and tranny with all the accessories. maybe even to swap it out.i know i wont find it for less than 2000 but the least expensive the better.

I would get out the yellow pages and start calling salvage yards and see if you can get an insight on the yards that recover auto thefts and accident totals. I know that there is a place off of North Shepard and Little york near 45 that specializez in that but it is expensive because you have to buy the whole car but most still have great motors and trans that just been flipped over or t boned or just every thing stripped off them from theft except for the motor and trans.

I'll call around for ya

I work for a dealership (used car), I know quite a few people in the salvage business. Why the Ls1? It would be a lot cheaper (and faster) to build yourself a nice carbed 350. We could probably build one for about 2 grand (good heads, cam, valvetrain, intake, great carb). The swap will be much cheaper and more cost efficient. I'll still try and find you an Ls1 though

is it going to be a daily driver (your main source of transportation)?
I would build a big stroked ,carbed small block it I had to do it again. somthing in the 396 to 422 cubic inch range and leave all the 4th gens and local stangs and ricers running for cover..
