Going slow, turning fast...
Sometimes anyway-
Anyone who's looking for a bit more than straight-line action should head to Texas A&M on Sunday, Sept 26, for an autocross.
There's quite a few Camaros out there- we have at least one of every generation in the club.
It's a good time by all- and you get to turn too!
More info should be posted soon at http://www.tamscc.org
Cost is $10 for members, $15 for non members, and memberships available ($25/yr). Tis free to watch and ***** rides with whoever and whatever shows up.
Anyone who remembers the vid of the teal RS being torn to bits in a very short time can come out and meet the majority of the people involved.
And just as a refresher: autocrosses are like small road courses- marked by cones, they are generally a low-speed, high-skill events. Ever wanted to slalom through those construction cones? well, here's your chance! (Low speed has gotten as high as 80mph, depending on driver, course, and car.)
Nothing special is required to run- loaner helmets are available if you don't have your own. It is asked you find the insurance form on the website, print that out and bring it in, but they will be available at registration.
Registration is strictly from 9am-10am, but you can still come watch if you get there later.
Fun runs are generally available at the end of the day, where it's run all ya want, and then we meet for dinner somewhere in town.
The runs are timed, with trophies awarded to winners.
Hope to see some more Camaros out there!

How often are you all out there? I won't be able to make the 26th, but would like to check out some of the events and run my car when I finish the suspension/chassis mods.

Generally we're there about once a month- next one is Oct 17, and our third autocrosses are infamous for being long- about a minute or so- and sometimes quite fast...
Right now I don't remember the date of the fourth autocross, but I'll try and post reminders.
It's fun just to hang out, watch, talk, and ride, even if you don't run.
