New Tune and Slips

All things considered, I'm very happy with the results.

Best in the car so far had been a 14.5 et, and I didn't beat that, but reviewing all my slips it (the 14.5) lays pretty far out of the norm.

After headers, high flow cat and tune, went straight to HRP Friday night. Slips attached below. Only got two runs in, and they are almost 1.5 hours apart.

What really caught my eye, and made me smile, is the consistency. I've never had two runs in the same night this close, the car is now obviously giving me everything it has.

Thanks Mike!

Cool!

I can tell U from experiance that the ambient air temps make a BIG difference on TPI cars. Knowing what the weather was, and knowing that when the air is cooler and crisper it will make as much as 3 to 4 tenths difference--maybe even more. It has on my car on many different occasions.

So are U spinning through first gear--refresh my memory--what tires are U suing at the strip--street tires or drag radials?

Currently running M/T ET Street Radials, and NO slip. Thinking that may be the cause for my drop in 60' times. Was running a consistent 2.0x 60' on Goodyear Eagle F1's, with noticeable slip (sound and feel). Absolutely no indication of slip with the M/T's but 60' times are down.

I have noted in other posts the car doesn't seem to come up to rev as fast as it used to, I'm now thinking that is due to increased grip with the M/T's. It all has to be balanced, and where my engine is right now a little slip seems to have helped it. Will be back at HRP again this next Friday, gonna try the M/T's at 32# street pressure,
get a little bit of "wheel spin" back.

Always 32# in the street tires. 3.27:1 9-bolt rear.

Slips above were at 25# rear first run, 18# on the second.

Yep, scales read 3580 with me in it...past averages are 3650, a little less gas in the tank this time, a lot of running around that day.

If you pulled your times in San Antonio at 3810#, you are really kicking butt!...check your hatch area!

I heard once that 100 lbs = 1 tenth.

Don't know if tht's true, but something to think about, if U are really into lowering your times!

Yeah, that iron 6 liter block isnt very light.

Strip the interior, remove the spare tire, some fiberglass replacement panels, you might be able to get it that light.

I'm gonna have to weigh mine with the LS1, no clue what its going to weigh

I still had the spare in place, plus 20# tool box in the hatch. No support vehicle to stash them in this time.

Car is fully optioned, everything powered and a/c cooled (manual seats though). Probably dropped 20# with headers and y-pipe change.

xtremeirocz your t-tops probably add 10-15# or so, but no easy way around that!

We could all start jogging!

That would definately shave some weight in my case! (More than I care to admit!)

No Way! I'm a firm believer in mechanical advantage. If I get heavier (and I am), that just means I need more horsepower!
