91-92 Camaro Front Spoiler/Valence
So, as I come to find out, GM decided to discontinue the front chin spoiler that is on the 91-92 Camaro.
The only place to get the front chin spoiler is hawksthirdgen at a whopping $400. Dunno why $400 since they were sold on the final day at $24. One hell of a mark-up.
Anyway, I found a business that was doing the rear valence for the CME on the LS1 SS on LS1Tech. I then contacted them about doing the front spoiler for the 91-92 Camaro in Urethane. They were able to do it with a first run production requirement of 20 orders. Cost....$280 SHIPPED! FREAKING AWESOME!
Post up if you are 100% commited to getting one and I will add you to the list. You will not pay me, you will pay the guy doing the work.
For Reference: http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=774601
And I will add a GM part pic of the front spoiler so you know what I am talking about (if you didn't already). Part 1 is the Front Bumper Cover. Part 2 is the front chin spoiler/valence.

WOW, that is outrageouse!!! I get my 85-90 front piece from certafit for 75 bucks, i asked if they carry the 91-92 and they said nope. I dont like to have to clean the holes of them anyways.

Re: 91-92 Camaro Front Spoiler/Valence
Yea the 91-92 is much harder to fab because of the "holes". That coupled with the demand and lack of production, gets you the $400 for the left-overs. I have 2 91's that need the front spoiler and I'll be dammed if I am gonna pay $800 to get 2 new ones. I know some people get theirs "welded" but you can always tell.
And the certifit (not certafit) website has your "front piece" for $86.50 (no tax or shipping included). And like you said, they don't even carry the 91-92 models so there is no real comparision on cost. For those of us who actually want the original 91-92 style GFX (which I like MUCH MUCH better than the previous years...which is why I bought 2 91's), the guy who is doing me/us a favor to get these into production (with one of my original GM molds) so that we can save money and have a source for future GFX production runs (when...not if....GM discontinues other hard to find Urethane parts).

LOL, you say you like the 91-92 allot better, like they are way different. They are harder to clean too. They are ok, i like them olmost the same, but that is cause they are hard to find.

I'd be pretty interested if the quality is good enough. You should post on the body or detailing and appearance boards. I'd love to get a fresh, new, perfect gfx piece for my RS...

I wish i still had contact with an old friend who owned a 91 RS, he picked one up for 150, that must have been 3 years ago.

Re: 91-92 Camaro Front Spoiler/Valence
Yea GM discontinued the 91-92 chin spoiler late last year or earlier this year without any warning. And they were being sold at the dealership for $150 and some change up until the closeout pricing. I don't blame them for ending the production for just 2 years of the Camaro...the dash pads are the real money makers.
I'll post this in the other topics you suggested, Infernal.

No, it means the price skyrocketed to 400 each, which is beyond ridiculous.

Re: 91-92 Camaro Front Spoiler/Valence
If you read my first post, you will notice I said where anyone can get a genuine GM discontinued spoiler that was $150 from GM but you will have to shell out $400 for it now from someone else. That is the only place to get a NEW GM DISCONTINED FRONT CHIN SPOLIER FOR THE 91-92 CAMARO. So you can spend $400 plus shipping from them or you could get OEM quality for $280 shipped to your door. Math is fun.

Ill ask my buddy Steve, he has a 91 RS that needs a front GFX for it. We just got the motor in and running on his car in the past two days.

Yup. Same source as Classic Industries and all the other re-sellers. There is only one manufacturer but do your homework for the lowest prices.

This ended some time ago. Classic Industires should be the most reliable and less costly source to date.
I bought 2 around April of 2008. Not show quality straight out of the box but with a little work it came out beautiful.

Re: 91-92 Camaro Front Spoiler/Valence
if we did do it ourselves just think of all the time and money your are going to spend making it look brand new again and not to mention the paint. yeah its a remanufactured part, but ill tell you one thing its a hell of a lot better looking than mine. in my opinion a remanufactured bottom front spoiler for 145.00 is worth it.

one of them is for my own car which is in the process of repair. I have another original one which is in need of repair as well but i have a guy who will repair the back to stock with stock materials.. no cheap stuff... he runs about 250 to repair them back to the way they were. i still have a repo one which is sitting on my back patio incase this repair doesn't come out well.... i got the repop from ebay for 165... minor fit probs but over all not bad
