Introduction

Hello all, my name is Jon and I drive a 2004 GTO. I've been cruising the site for a few days gathering up information. I acquired an 82 Firebird this past weekend, and it does not have the original engine or transmission. The only thing i really know about the car is that it was a 305 with an auto and that it is not a Trans Am. I got a TH350 with the car to put in, and am lined up for a built 350 for it. I guess I will research the VIN when i get a chance to find out what i have. Anyways thanks for all the future info.

Re: Introduction

Welcome to the meat grinder! Typically nobody will pull out a 305 and then put it back in...but crazier things have happened. If you really want to know what you have do some research or pulling the heads off and doing some measuring are your main options. Usually the size of the engine on Chevy's is stamped behind one of the heads I think.
