Need a Mechanic/Tuner in NW Houston area for my supercharged baby

A few of you may have read my situation, but I bought back my 89 IROC - ZZ4 motor / ATI P600B Supercharger with built trans, rebuilt rear end, etc. I thought it was going to be much more simple to get it running, but the truth is ... it has been really hard getting it all to get going properly again. The car sat for about 5 years. While it does drive now, I noticed white smoke - some say a blown head gasket or leaky fuel injector, but the mechanic that came out before said he didn't think it was those items, but rather a tuning issue. The smoke smells like gas. I have not driven it since I have seen the smoke. The car has actually not been floored even in maybe 8 years. When I saw the white smoke, after 30 seconds to a minute, i shut it off, and started it a month or two later for a mechanic to check it out.

I put it up for sale and got a ton of bites, but have not had the heart to aggressively pursue selling.

Anyway, here I am. I need a trustworthy mechanic / tuner who can come over and fix my baby. Obviously willing to pay - but I would like to know the person coming out knows what they are doing.

Thank you in advanced for helping me keep my baby!

i can't see a tuning issue being the cause of the white gas smelling smoke, at least i've never seen it.
to have the gasoline smell out the exhaust, the gas has to be unburned.
with the white smoke, enough liquid gas has to get into the exhaust to vaporize, normally caused by the cats as they start to heat up.
although it is possible, i don't think it would be an injector problem.
a single injector leaking bad enough would probably cause hydro lock.
most or all of the injectors leaking some could possibly cause it, but i feel its just not that likely.
you've got to get extra fuel under boost from somewhere, so i take it you have a FMU, it could be leaking fuel into the intake.
i believe the most probable thing would be the fuel pressure regulator leaking, pull the hose off of it and check for signs of gas. after you have the hose off, if it looks ok, power up the fuel pump and check it again.

you say north west, i take it thats somewhere up off 290, if you don't mind answering, how far out?

you know, if you do sell it again, it will eat at you for the rest of your life.
that car will always live in the back of your mind, calling out to you

thanks for the response DNH_SHAH! If you have any ideas or you do this stuff yourself, I'd love to have you / your recommendation out. I just am awful when it comes to this stuff. I am in the Tomball area.

no problem
im not to far from HMP, so your a bit of a drive from me, about an hour drive depending on traffic.
1bad91Z or Mike lives up in your area.
he knows thirdgens and can tune if needed.
last i heard he had 2 Camaros, both are modded and 1 has forced induction.
i know he is usually pretty busy, but try giving him a PM.

cool - I think i'd like to have a mechanic out first ... just to make sure, or a mechanic who tunes also or something. the last thing i want to do is pay a tuner to come and say "hey you need a mechanic". keep the suggestions coming people!

Mike, like me is a wrench too.
although i walked away from auto repair almost 2 years ago.
after about 23 years non-stop at the same shop in the same bay, kind of burned me out.
as far as i know, Mike still works at a shop.
