Im back again....With a 1LE!!!
Well im back on site again after a cpl years of dormancy. Last fall I decided to resurect my IROC and as soon as I had ordered a rotating assembly and stripped and painted the engine bay my better half found a 1965 Mustang she wanted....So the IROC got placed on the back burner again.....Now a few months later and one bored night of browsing craigslist and TGO classifieds, and now out of the blue I am the new proud owner of a 1 owner 1991 Arctic White 1LE Camaro... it was for sale on here so u might be familiar with her, but now shes mine....My plans for her are simple, some 17'' ZR1 rims, ditch the louvers, swap the hood, and just drive and enjoy her for now.... On a bad note, first thing is first, as I was driving the 1LE home from north dallas to waco, about half way she started to dump trans fluid....Im not sure where from yet havnt had a chance to look at it, I plan to do that in an hour or so. Hoping it blew a cooler line (previous owner has customized cooler lines with inline extra filter) if its something more then I have a low milage 89 Vette 700r4 on standby for a swap...Well guys its good to be back, I plan to get her back on the road for the super chevy show next month....Maybe Ill see some of yall there...

Well I got the trans fixed. It did blow the front seal out of the old one. The spare vette trans I had doesnt have trans mount, mounting points on the case so I couldnt use it...Its strange cause in the past Ive picked up other vette 700r4s from my buddys and all ive had to do was swap the tail shaft housing. Oh well I also had an unknown condition 89 firebird 305tbi trans laying around so I popped off the pan, saw it looked good inside and decided to gamble and throw it in...Well the gamble paid off so far the trans is working great... today I removed the louvers, and side trim mouldings that wher paint cracking...I also painted my extra ss style hood and will swap that on tommorow when its dry. Then Ill grab some photos and get them posted up....Im loving the car though so far...

She's looking really good man. Does that ram air hood seem thin to you. I had one on my 82 but always had a problem with stress cracks due to engine vibration. Although it couldve been that mine was an off brand. Anyways not that you don't have enough to check already just thought I would give you a heads up

No.problem I think you're right mine was probably the cheaper made brand. I paid only like 275 for it back in the day. Think maybe it was that cheap because someone had sanded it down for some reason.

Re: Im back again....With a 1LE!!!
So, sorry I missed the thirdgen roundup, I would have loved to go but i had trans issues. As I stated earlier in the thread I had to swap in a trans as soon as i bought the car well, that transmission lasted 1 week. The weekend after I swapped in the unknown trans I went to the race track just to play around. The next morning when I went to drive the 1LE to my shop I noticed it was leaking some trans fluid, as i began to drive the trans made a bad grinding noise so I parked her and shes been sitting since.
