Suggestions please.....

I am looking for a Z.... 1990 at the oldest... (Even a 4th gen if I cant find a fantastic 3rd....)

Can ANYONE give me some suggestions on where else I could be looking for one?

Ive been on www.autotrader.com,www.autobytel.com, www.chroniclecars.com,www.thegreensheet.com, and a few others..... Ive tried the papers, automart , and even resorted to asking random people at car lots....

Any one got any suggestions or any leads on where I could find a car?

Preferably a 91-92Z 'vert (Isnt that on everyones "A" list?) 305/ 5spd...

Or any 94-95 6spd Z.

Thanks! Hopefully someone can help! Distance isnt too big of a deal!

o yea, by the way, my car may be for sale...

Well I don't know how much help this will be, but I was in Houston this weekend, and we had to go pick up a friend of mine's car. I am pretty much clueless as to where we were, but I saw a car you might be interested in. It was on a lot we passed by, and it was a 91-92 camaro convertible with the heritage package. It was white with black stripes, but I don't think it had the hood blisters. I know that not all Z's had the blisters though. If you want more info, I can find out where we were from my friend and post the info. It caught my eye, you don't see too many convertibles with the heritage package, but he told me there was a lot of flooding down there, so it might be a bad deal.

Be patient!!! I looked for my 92 z28 for about 3 months. I found one on ebay and was the high bidder but did not meet the reserve price. 3 weeks later, the owner calls me and I offer him $8k and he takes it!!!

Here is the link:

I even saved on shipping as he met me in Houston.

Just keep searching and you will find "YOUR CAMARO"

If you could get the location for me, that would be great....
I'd love to go check it out, even if it may be an RS.....

Ok, I'm really sorry it took me so long to reply to this. My bad man. I'll email my buddy in Houston and see if he can find out where we were. I'll reply ASAP when I know something. I'm pretty sure this was a Z-28, but I'm not positive about that. I also posted an address for a dealership near here which sells some really awesome cars. It's in this SWMG board somewhere. I'll try to find it and post it here. These guys have had some really nice cars and also do restoration work in-house.

Ok, here's the address. I can't seem to locate their website, but they had a pretty good searchable site with all their cars online a while ago.

Select Motors Company
Phone 318-640-4584
E-mail USelectOne@AOL.com

Let me know if you get in touch with them, and if you are interested in anything they have I can go to the lot and check it out for you. I looked at a real nice 96 Z-28 and was trying to buy it, but couldn't get financed. When I looked at the car I found some imperfections, like the dash was cracked. They fixed the crack for me before I even did the paperwork and had it waiting with a full tank, but the bank shafted me.

They seem to keep fourth gen SS's on their lot and I saw a REALLY nice 91-Z the other day with their dealership sticker on it. I wish they had it when I was looking, but Oh well.

Good luck and I'll try to find out about the car in Houston.

Kiztope,
Be patient.. there are plenty of good 3rd gens in TX. I had to go to Austin for mine, and it took me 4 months to find it. Looked on Autotrader.com every single night. Mine was like 8 pages into a search. I went to look at it.. She wasn't perfect, but the miles were low, body and drivetrain were good, and the price was right(after some negotiating of course.) Make sure you go over the car with a fine toothed comb before you even start talking money. Check all the fluids, since you want a manual, take it for a test drive, go to a quick lube and either have them check the transmission, or ask to go down and do it yourself. Check the rear end, look for signs of the axel seals leaking. take a look inside the radiator, look at the front end parts. I'm sure you get the picture by now. Good luck, and happy hunting.

Anthony

I'm still waiting for my buddy in Houston to send the info about where we were down there.
I just thought I would send you the address for Select Motors because they have had some really nice cars before and they pretty much specialize in sports cars. I don't know if they have a webpage anymore or not, but I can't seem to find it.
