West Texas?

All I ever see is East Texas. What, no people from over west on here. I know things are very spred out over here, but there has to be someone.

Hey man I'm out here in abilene.

I think we are about it for now, except for a few in the panhandle.
I've told several people around here about the site, but so far haven't seen anyone on here.

Bill, drop me an email if you'd be interested in helping to organize a W. TX 3rd Gen group. I posted a new topic to SWMG with more info.

I had alrealdy asked around in a post before, no one was interested.
By the way our club here in El Paso currently has 10 members and 11 cars. There might be an 11th member on the way too.

When I joined 3rd Gen I was in Phoenix (as in my sig) but I moved back to my home town of Portales, NM. We are on the East Texas border (10 miles) so I'm in the same region as you guys.

To be honest with you dont know how it runs. I bought the car 2 weeks ago with a spun main bearing. The motor is at the machine shop getting most of the work done along with the heads. I am still deciding on the cam to go with. All i knew that
the car had when i bought it was the tpis mini-ram, but we tore it down and it is a 383 stroker and it has 30 lb injectors along with a hypertech chip, its also got accel supercoil and ignition. The list goes on. It outta be up in running in a few months, see ya around man.

I think that is the same car i nearly bought about a year ago. Someone else beat me to it, I was mad. The guy then told me it had a sb400. It had a rumbly idle, but it had a ticking coming from the engine, and the rockers were also hitting the valve covers. When I looked at it the guy who bought it got it for $1700. May be the same car may not.

Yeap i think it is the same car, but it does have a 350 block bored .30 over and a 400 crank. Was the car white w/ t-tops? If so where did you look at the car at and was it running at the time?

Umm, let's see, it was about a year ago and this guy out at Potosi was selling it for the dean of ACU or McMurry or one the colleges here in town. She got it by having a lean against it because the guy who did all that stuff to it owed her money or something. I think he went to jail or something. I started it up and it ran when I looked at it, it just had the ticking and the stuff I mentioned earlier. It had angle plug heads also. Don't remember if it had headers or not. I'm pretty sure it is the same one, because the car I looked at had a miniram and was white w/yellow pinstripes along the ground effects. it had that big shifter also. Minirams aren't too common around here that I know of.

Yeap thats one, its got the yellow pin stripe on the bottom of it. Yea the guy owed his landlord money so she sold it to that guy in Potosi and a guy named Gabe bought it and i bought it off of him. It was a drug dealer that went to jail and did all kinda work to the car. So what kinda setup you going with for your car?

Umm, let's see, standard bore 383, Pro Action Iron lightning heads, Lunati cam, new block, new trans. Eventually aluminum driveshaft, better rear end parts, new rims, SS hood, Z28 spoiler, 4th gen interior. That's about all. What heads are on the Iroc? Have any track times for your Z?

Yeap got plenty track times for the Z. Well, last time i went down there she went 12.40's trapping about 120. Once i got the Iroc ready i am sure i will take it down to the track also, i got somethings up my sleeve for it also.

No dont have any palns for the Z right now. When i get the Iroc running i may sell it and then get heads and cam for the Z. But for now my goal is just to get the thing up and running. When i do get it running i am going to be upset if it doesn't beat my Z. It is going to be a stroked, heads, cam and nitrous car, so i dont see why it would have a problem beating the Z. I know trction is going to kill me but more then likely i am going all out suspension and slicks. I dont we'll see.
