Just bought this 91 Z28
I bought this Z28 in Detroit Michigan just before Christmas and drove it back to Houston, actually Katy. What a blast drivng back. Im 51 and I've been wanting a 3rd gen Camaro since I looked at them new in about '85. The rims are pretty cool, they are kind of unique, I haven't seen any others yeta around here like them. I also got the original rims with the car. I love driving this car, im looking for an exaust system, probably hooker catback. These are supposed to be good ones. See you around Houston

Lots of old guys
Actually I think there must be quite a few of us "old guys" driving these cars. I would have loved to get about a '68 (the year I graduated high school) Camaro totally restored, but I figured it would either cost me about $15,000 or all my time to restore it(maybe both). So I decided to get a late model thirdgen (always loved the body) and put money into it a little at a time, youknow do the small things and keep it up, and keep it for a long time. Besies my son is 14 and he can help me work on it and then drive it in a few years (if I can afford the insurance). Be a good father/son activity you know.

Well old or young we all love our cars right? I love my bird and if the guy next door is 52 Vs me at 21, I will still like his car.
Age is age but a love for ones car awsome.

ORIGINAL WHEELS
I actually like the origina wheels better too. These are interesting though. Three of the originals are in excellent shape but one has a pretty bad gouge from hitting a curb I guess. Would it be difficult to buy one wheel? Probably unless someone had a bad one too and just wanted to break up the set and sell them.
I will definetely put the originals on at some point in the future, having to much fun driving right now

Nice car, too bad it doesnt have the 350 in it, but never the less still a very nice car! I can help you setup a killer 350 for it if you want, I'm in the process of building mine up. I will keep the stock 350 long block in case the new motor blows up. Will you be at the Kyrkendahl show on Feb.2 ? If so, se ya there!

Yeah sometimes I wish I would have bought the 350 too, but I don't know if I really want it. This car is great trips. I drove it all the way down from Detroit to Houston when I bought it and got almost 20mpg. I don't really want to drag race but it is fun to take off quick sometimes. I think I will build this one up a little, exhaust system for sure, maybe different rear end, etc. Thanks for the offer. Yes I do plan to be at the car show at Kuykendahl. Ill probably be the only 50 year old dude there so you cant miss me.

I'll be there too. I will be the one with the brand new looking black 91 Z-28 with stock wheels and 4th gen Camaro seats. I'll see you all there.

1bad91Z, the car just turned over 90.000 miles on the way back from Detroit. I sure would like to see you car and how those 4thgen seats turned out. I was thinking of doing the same thing with mine. the seats arent cracked or anything but they are a little lumpy and uncomfortable, plus Id like a electic adjustable one for the driver. I hear you can just run a wire from the fuse box under the carpet to the driver seat, all controls and motors are in the seat. Look forward to seeing you car up there.

The 4th gen seats are alot more comfortable and you feel more planted in the seat. The original seats were power, so I just cut off the 4th gen power connector and spliced on the 3rd gen connector and just plugged the seat in. They are a direct bolt in. See ya there.

Hey Larry,
Don't know if you remeber me or not but when I talked to you you said you also got the stock wheels for the car? I was wondering if you ended up putting them on or not, if you didn't would you be interested in selling them or trading for some Centerlines? Just thought I would ask. Email me and let me know.

maybe
Hi Lynda. sure I rembember you, I almost met you one time at pasadena but it was cold and yall didn't stop. I still have the rims and no I haven't put them on and yes I might sell them. I have since bought a 91 formula with a 5.7L and am building it a bit and could use the money for runners, throttle body etc. I will take a picture of the rims and send them to you, they are in fair shape, they have all the center caps and only one has a pretty good curb dent. I have cleaned them up pretty good, not all the way on the back sides. I would kind of like to keep them in case someday I want to go stock on the camaro but my wife and daughter both like the aftermarket rims on there and it's really their car now that I got the Firebird. Ill send you the pics and then let me know. Do you ever go to the drags at Sealy? Went there on Friday night last, it was great. Im going to race the Firebird there in two weeks.

That sounds good. Been to Sealy a few times, mainly for Car Club Bash to watch the Houston F-body club. I am usually out at HRP every Sunday running my car. So getting some runners for the car eh? That's cool I run 15x3.5 Welds up front on my car all the time, I love the look of those. But anyways, my hubby is about to buy a 1988 Camaro and it has Centerlines on it and I would like the 91-92 Z28 wheels so I was hoping he would put those on instead. Can't wait to see the pictures of the wheels. Thanks, and talk to you later.
