I run the Houston-F-Body.org domain. and Email list.
Back when I was in Houston I was part of that scene...but I'm in Conroe and College Station a lot these days.
Still driving my '82.
I'm having a few former HFB members over next Saturday for a mod, repair day (in Conroe).
I'll be rebuilding my rear calipers, replacing brake lines, installing a different transmission x-member.
Maybe cutting out part of my cage for a swing out.
If the weather is good one of the other guys is planning on replacing his AC condenser.
Good to hear that y'all still wrenching with the third gens. Let me know when ever y'all plan a meet or cruse. Got to do this at least once or twice a year guys.
There is a group on facebook. How ever it's not like the old days, there's some guys from the glory days of the F-body clubs but it's not the same as it was then. I am out in the Katy area, a few weeks ago I saw a TTA in La Centera and there's an early third gen sport coupe I see regularly around Cinco Ranch.
Just not enough consistently active 3rd genners in Houston, always up and down and back again.
Don't give up on us completely. I believe I am more than just the one that has had to become an envious lurker. Over the past half dozen or so years family medical issues, parental late life and end of life duties, and random hiccups in life have caused me to put my third-gen hobby to the bottom of the activities list. Fortunately walking by my toy as it sits under blankets in the garage as I enter or leave every day does give me some enthusiasm that when free time does return to my life I will return to active board participation and drive it more than once per quarter to blow the cobwebs off or get it inspected.
There is always lots of work to do, so we are trying to plan another before it gets too cold.
One of the other guys still needs to replace his AC condenser.
I barely scratched the surface of all the stuff I have lined up to do, so I'm always happy to have some help. Today's task is bleeding brakes, which is always easier with help.
Are you still driving that same TPI 'Vette from years ago?

yeah I still have the vette, but I built a miniram motor for it. I had a 90 RS before that. Now I have a 92 RS project car as well. I hear you on the projects. Have a ton of stuff for the RS, a new rear for the vette, and an ls build for my truck all sitting in the garage waiting.
i recently heard of russel brake bleeders that allow it to be a 1 man/(woman) operation.im seriously contemplating these as they are pretty reasonable.
I am still around and the car should be back together with the new fuel system and rear differential by the end of this weekend. We used to all meet on Westheimer. Going to take the Z06 to Cars & Coffee this weekend. Keep me posted as to a meet up if anyone can coordinate one.
Thanks,
Man it'll be bad *** to get back to those old glory days of third gen meets and cruises around town man I'm down now that my rs is running good. Hasn't broke down in a while lol. When's the next meet ? Lol
It depends on where we get the most responses from. I live in Cypress, but between the Grand Parkway and 290 being about done, I’d pretty much go anywhere in Houston.
We were thinking 1 - 4 pm to get everyone home during daylight. I know that BK on 249 and Spring Cypress. It’s a good idea since it’s right off 249, but how about Bombshells just up the road on 249 and the Grand Parkway? The food is probably better and it has easy access to a highway that’s connected to most of the Houston area.
Are you still racing the Camaro ESC? I still check in on the forum time to time. I am back on the Camaro scene, but a 1st Gen 468 Big Block car. Should be a lot of fun when finished.
Good to hear from you.
I don't get to do as much racing as I would like. Honestly almost none.
I had it out of the garage for the first time in months yesterday. It ran great. That razor sharp, tire melting throttle response is just so different from the other cars I mostly end up driving, that it seems like it belongs in a whole different universe. It's weird, how just a short drive can provide the motivation to get back on the long list of mods, upgrades and repairs that are waiting for my time. I'm hoping to weld in the drivers side swing out roll bar tomorrow, then bolt in the new transmission cross member, then replace the steering shaft, then install the "hyrdo-boost" brake booster, then replace the head liner, then...well the list is endless...
Hi Eric,
Only have pictures on my Facebook. I bought it from a guy I know, we both buy and rebuild classic cars as a hobbie. He had it for four years in a well known Camaro shop in Houston. They messed him around so much that he ended up just picking up the car. He decided to cut his losses. Its missing a lot of stuff that was either misplaced or stolen from it while it was at the restoration shop. Its a new Big block with built 700r4 with 12 bolt 3.42 Posi rear. It has disk brakes all around and the new fuel injection setup is arriving for it this week.
I’m in cypress as well with a 92 RS (along with a lot of old Chevys) If folks are meeting up anymore these days let me know. I’m close to the spring cypress and 249 area if that was
still something some of y’all were doing
Not much activity lately, but I'm hopeful that after the plague runs it's course we will be able to get a few people together.
In the mean time, I'm slowly plugging away at my long list of things to fix.
New Y-Pipe is next. I wish I new a good exhaust shop that would do custom work to my specs.
I can appreciate that! Will def be following this thread for any developments.
also can someone help me understand why I cannot reply to my wanted post I made in the interior section? Need a speedometer part and have had replies, but when I respond it does not post it. Also can’t message anyone as well....not sure how I am able to respond to this thread even lol. Thanks!

Also, can someone help me understand why I can’t reply to my wanted ad I posted under the interior parts wanted forum? I need to get my speedometer working and have had a reply, but when I try to write back it says it is sending the reply for approval and doesn’t post it. Also doesn’t let me email the people that have responded...thanks for any help! Not sure why I can reply to this but not that. I am new so maybe that’s it?
