Update on my '91 1LE

I posted my intro over a year ago and it took me a long *** time to really dig into the car and start fixing stuff.... then I received a lot of hate for something i decided to do with MY car.... this is for the haters:

Hole? what hole?

what you see here in this really bad photo (sorry) is my new audio system installed.... im quite pleased with it... the car had no speakers, and no head unit... and a big wide open hole in the center console where a headunit belongs.. i filled that hole with a double din headunit, custom brackets to mount, (working on 3d printing the bezel), and i dropped in some Pyle 4x6's in the front and 6x9s in the rear. the rear speakers are powered by a Pioneer 500w amp, and then you also see a 12" sub sitting right over the 'hole' which i patched with a sheet of carbon fiber, then 2 sheets of killamat sound deadening material, then the factory carpet with its jute included.... then the big 12" sub box. again i say? what hole? hate on haters. oh and the 12 is powered by a 1000w soundstream amp.

I also 3d printed a bunch of the rear panel screws and nuts and im getting pretty good at making car parts with my 3d printer so if anybody needs plastic parts for their 3rd gen i might be able to help... i also made a sick cup holder, but i hesitate to cut up my center console to install it so next im going to make a new shifter bezel so i can have my cupholder without cutting factory parts up.

Next order of business: headliner redo, then transmission rebuild... I LOST 5TH GEAR! ... after that, redo front seat upholstery.

Re: Update on my '91 1LE

It's your car. Do what you want with it and make it yours. Drive the wheels off it. I hate cars that just get looked at and never driven. I did hate on the fuel pump access panel. It's the mod I hate most done to 3rd gens. If you would have jacked it up and put 33s with mud tires on it I would hate that less than cutting an access panel.

While I'm here I'm going to hate on something else I noticed. That purple faded window tint on the hatch glass. I hope removing that is somewhere high on your list of mods to do.

Well spoken sir. the silly purple tint from the mid 90s does get on my nerves a bit, but its low on my list. it will come off and be replaced with some modern limo tint when i get around to it. now that you mention it it probably just went up on my priority list. good job sir.

Edit: now it bothers the **** out of me. next photo i post that **** will be gone!

Re: Update on my '91 1LE

Here's to 30 plus yrs and 250k miles of enjoying the parking lot. (Whatever that means?) For the record, I'm not hanging on every little thing you do to it so no need to tag me. It may surprise you but i like to see different ideas and mods come to fruition. There are several very well done access panels ive seen. Its your car, do as you please. As you may or may not know, for the collectors, that hole and big miles does devalue the car a bit. Like it or not, thats a fairly desired "collector" car..
