I have a friend that is a co-founder of the dead horse mustang car club(only like 10 members). On Saturday nights 39th street is packed with fast cars, and I occaisionally hang out with him and his group. I usually drive my Grand Cherokee, cause I don't wanna be a wolf among sheep in my camaro...lol Anyway, sometime, we outta organize a small thridgen gathering in OKC and eat at chili's then cruise over to 39th and see all the cars. Would anyone be interested? If we wanted to go for two nights in a row, we could always go to the track on Friday night for test and tune.

39th is awsome. I havent ever seen anything like it. I try to go ever saturday. I would be interested in meeting up. I know a ton of people with 3rd gens that dont get on the board in our area that might be interested as well. I always see packs of mustangs and hondas driving around. I think it is about time we get some camaros together.

 

I agree, if we rolled out, and got at least 3 or 4 of us, and talked to some of the 3rd gens out there, I bet we could spark an interest. We should do that sometime, and post pics on the camaro boards. e-mail me sometime, I may be out there this w/ end if it isn't too cold.

 

I've been thinking about taking my work-in-progress out there sometime after the weather warms up again.

I'm in Okarche, work at Bob Moore pontiac on NW expressway. don't get down to 39th much, too much trash down there for me (ricers). Plus the cops end up ruining the evening. every time I've been down there we get to sit for about an hour before getting run off. Plus a friend at work got his 30th t/a impounded and thrown in jail a couple weeks ago. made up some crazy story about him racing and aluding when all he was doing was leaving the parking lot and some guys in front of him took off quick. wouldn't mind the getting together deal sometime if I can scrounge up some money.

 

Well in late June early July me my wife and my kids are coming home from Hawaii for my wife's highschool reunion and we will be going to Padre during that time but I would love to hook up with you guys at Chilli's or something!!! Hell I might even be able to talk my mom into loaning me her 2002 35th Anniv SS convertible!!

Your probably saying, "Your mom has a 35th Anniv SS??" Okay let me tell you this, she had my 89IROC and I got it in 92 when she bought a 25th anniv z28, then she bought a 97 30th anniv z28, and got rid of it for a 98 RS "YUCK", when they announced the 2002 35th Anniv's she put in an order at Boyd Chevrolet, (My uncle works there) and she got one of the convertibles! I can't wait to get home to drive it!!

Anyway, the funny thing is, I asked her what number it is, you know out of 3500? She says, "I don't know??" LOL, MOM's are funny!

Well, in a couple weeks, maybe I'll put something together, mine is work in progress too. Hey Kyle, I have heard a lot about you, I'd like to see some of your rides. Maybe I'll drop in sometime to Bob Moore and meet you. The gathering a few years ago, I was working at O'reilly's in Norman, so I couldn't go to Noble, but if you'd be interested, maybe we can organize a small get together at the track some friday instead of risking 39th. Also, was that the Bethany police who got him, I saw some 4th gen's racing and a TTA. Everyone floored it when the cops got on them, except one guy stopped and they got him.

 

yeah, Perry told me about your car too. I think I saw you one day on mainstreet in kingfisher. you have a light blue car with exhaust exiting in front of the rear wheels? not sure what I was driving that day. My buddy didn't say which cops arrested him but that sounds like what happened. They claimed he tried to allude them in a 30th anniversary t/a with 600rwhp. I'm sorry but if he was even halfway trying, they would have never caught him. Why do most cops have to be dicks? I only know a few of them that are straight up good guys and they usually get run out of the force. Kingfisher cops are just as bad, I got tired of being harrassed every time I went up to drag main. they would follow me everywhere. I got a ticket from Mike Moeller for a second gear scratch when I wasn't even accelerating fast. They'd rather harrass someone for piddly traffic offenses than get real criminals off the streets for dealing drugs and other stuff because they are too damn lazy to do the paperwork. anyway, enough venting, see you sometime. Yeah, they are dicks. It's funny though, cause I have buddies that are cops an if I get pulled over and make the connection, then they are lighter on me. It pisses me off that we get nailed for stupid stuff, especially since we are not punk teenagers, and we are careful and responsible in a sports car. You know the cops get on it if they own fast cars, you just have to be safe and know when to and when not to, but they don't take that into consideration. If I punch it out in a remote area and I'm speeding, half the time they treat you like you were in a school zone at 3:00! We in our mid 20's and up work for a living, and own several vehicles and toys, but just because we are not in our 40's we get treated like kids instead of respected. I always manage okay though if I go to 39th. I have a term called Jack Assery. If you don't engage in this, then even if you get on it a little bit, they will usually leave you alone. For the most part, the ones you see pulled over are the wanna be gangster rice boys, and the idiots in a ford tarus that squeal the tires thinking it's fast. Rarely do you see the 32 year olds in mint condition GNX's pulled over, or the guys in primered 10 second novas. Okay I vented big time too, on to the next subject. Anyway, actually, no, my camaro is red with factory stripes. I just remember your posts from way back when the board 1st opened, and Mike E was always talking about your brother's car and stuff.

 

i know that i am a little late but i've been off the net for a while. a good place to go is american camro and firebird there on 39th. gary has a fat ride. i am from elk city living in enid, went to school for a bit at OCU. had a brand new paint($3400) and it got vandelized but it's been a year or so. I am pretty much over it right now. I was heartbroken to see my baby in shambles(all you heart beat of america people know what i mean). well whenever you decide to get together I might know of some people people from enid that would like to get together. And there is camaro club there in the city. give me a couple weeks and I'll see if I can't get some details for everyone.

hell yeah, i'm up for going out for some fun, i just bought my camaro, it was part of a fire, but anyway it'll be a while before i get it going like i want, anyway, i work at Hudi chev and have some friends up there that own camaros/F-bodies anyway, i'd come out even if it was in my full size truck, well gotta go later

Yo, Snakeskinner, we bought our 2002 WS6 T/A at Bob Moore back in January, so I might get to meet you when I bring the car in for its service. (Love it so far & just got done washing it a couple of hours ago).

By the look of you sig, are you a car collector in addition to being a GM Tech???
