Foster came and looked at the car. Said he loved it, but doesn't have the money quite ready and if I find another buyer, not to wait on him.
The car cleaned up fairly well. I was surprised at how complete the interior is. I never knew there was a cover for the ALDL port! I took new (clean) pictures and updated my previous posts.
I will also include a set of new Richmond 3.73 gears (thick style), Jegs install kit, and what I believe is a Hurst Shifter with B&M T-handle.
Odometer reads a low low 13,xxx miles
. So it's more likely 113,xxx miles on the chassis.

Yeah I did, way cleaner than my first Camaro.
If You would do it in payments I would have it all paid off in a month and a half

Hi,
I'm up in Austin. I might be interested in the car but I would have to drive it back to Austin, is it running good enough to do that?
Also, I see it's not been inspected or registered for a while. Do you think the car can get passed inspection and emission test so it will be legal to drive?
Thanks,
Dave E.

It runs and drives fine (I've only had the car just over a week, adjusted the timing a bit since Foster test drove it). I don't know about getting it emissions tested. It has the air pump, headers with the pipes, cat etc, but it is carbed. I *think* if they are sticklers and do a visual and know that it should be tbi, then they would fail you.

Just got off the phone with the guy that looked at it Friday and said he wanted it for the motor and trans, but would have to wait til today to get the money. Well, that didn't go thru, so the car is still up for grabs.
First $2000 cash in hand takes it. Or be prepared to leave $500 if you want me to hold it for a week while you get the rest of the cash and/or make arrangements to bring it home.

If it's an emissions problem, that car is going to be grandfathered in very soon.. that would help for a texas buyer.

Everybody is always thinking that once a car passes the 25 yr mark, they can rip off the emissions stuff & the car will pass. That is 100% wrong.
For the Emissions Test it has to be there & what comes out the tail pie has to be clean. After 25 yrs, no more Emissions Testing, but there is still the Visual portion of Inspections.
For the Visual Test, the stuff still has to be there.
So.....
Cats cannot be taken off.
AIR tubes cannot be taken off.
Smog pumps cannot be taken off.
FI cannot be replaced with a carb.
The stock snorkle air cleaner cannot be replaced with an open element one.
Etc., etc., etc.
In other words.....Your FI converted to carb will never legally pass in the state of Texas.

that's all true, but it does get a lot easier to find a shop that will things slide after you pass that 25 year mark

Yea, easy to find a shop that wont open the hood or give a ****, as long as it is not camming its assoff like mine, LOL.
As for legally pass? Technically, you can fail near 100% of cars that get inspections because there is literally something you can always find to fail a vehicle, even new believe it or not. That is just from what i have seen when i used to work on shitboxes for a living.

I wonder if it's possible to put a stock type air filter from a TBI car on your car just for inspections... with that setup, I'm wondering how many people would even look to see if it'sa TBI or a carb under there
