Where is everyone?
I just checked the other regional boards and it seems they are having the same problem. I would guess it is partly due to the winter weather so there are no meets going on. I think the regional boards need to be made open boards for the area members to talk about whatever, just kinda hang out. I don't really think Dirk would really like the idea much but if we didn't start trouble and got along there may not be a problem. We need to do something to get our members back! Got ideas?

I can say I don't post much here anymore mainly because I don't want to get bashed for buying a 4th gen or for anyone to think I'm trying to convert anyone.....but I do still visit regularly. I love this board and I love 3rd gens and I do plan on owning another one someday. Also I just hate to see people not visiting much anymore.
I believe it could be done with the regional boards as long as people don't get out of control and start flame wars.....I think if the mods are there to keep things in control it shouldn't be a problem......

1. No Flaming posts (keep it in e-mail or PM)
2. No Nudity ( lets remember we do have young members as well and respect those that may find it offensive)
3. No posting of Illegal software of any kind ( This is illegal and the posting of this type of activity can get Dirk in very serious trouble and could even lead to Thirdgen.org being shut down. If you don't believe me go to 3rdgen.org and as GK (George) about the contact he received over this manner.) So don't do it!
4. Follow steps 1-3 and we won't have any problems.
Awaits Jza's thoughts on this matter.

but i surf this site in school, and others do at work............my teacher has a slight problem with it....
I'm probably going to remain neutral on the non-tech issue. I personally come here for the technical aspects and leave the social aspects for going out.
I see nothing wrong with going slightly off-topic or non-tech, but I don't even feel I have to explain what's going to become a problem.
This is probably another reason a non-tech or "lounge" board has so often been refused on this system. The regional boards are inherently non-tech'ish. They're all more lax on cracking down on the off-topic matter than the tech boards. But coming here and creating a post for the sole purpose of discussing, say, a football game is obviously not what TGO is here for.
I'll expand a bit on jobryan26's list of guidelines:
1. a. No Flaming posts (keep it in e-mail or PM)
b. That means no "hey look at this and how stupid it is just because I think it's funny and I wanted to see if you all did too"
2. a. No Nudity
b. Not just because of younger members, which isn't really that much of an issue here, but because of where so many of us surf from (school, work, the park)
3. a. No posting of Illegal software of any kind...
b. This also includes links, or "tips" to aquire said software. In the interest of protecting this site, I will delete without warning or reason.
4. What he said.
5. There is no rule #5.
