Car of the Week 3/10-3/17(Purple 92 SS)
:hail: Need I say more!
Well.. Ok but be ready for a long book!! ive got a 92 RS that was born as a 6 cylinder.. Its now a fire breathing 355with forged everything, with edlebrock performer RPM 73cc heads, a comp cams 292H and an Edlebrock Performer RPM Air gap intake. She has a 750holley on top to cap her off. all of that is mated to a centerforce Dual friction clutch and a T5 tranny. I have a set of jamex drop springs on the ride too, to give it that intimading stance. The car sits on a set of 17x9 Eagle alloy series 077 rims, with Dunlop SPSports wrapping them.
As for the body.. well exterior wise ive kept the factory Hawaiaan Orchid purple, and done a good spray of of Pearl tribal ghost flames down the doors. I have also shaved all the emblems, and doorhandles keycylinders, and the antenna. I have a ASCD SS hood on the front and a 97 TA Spoiler that I had to have modified to fit the trunk deck. The windows are also tinted.
Interior Wise i have totally changed the interior color from light grey to charcoal, new carpet, all new rear panels in black, I also added an 85 overhead console. I also changed all seats out to those of a 97 trans am too.. charcoal grey. I have Macewen Silver faced guages, Autolite pro comp pillar guages in silver, and a borg and warner t5 ripper shifter. There is an eclipse head unit, a memphis SHP 10" sub woofer, and a kicker XS 100 rounding out the stereo system.
Ive done a lot more, but there is so much i cant hardly remember it all. most of the mods are in the engine compartment which is why its hard to remember them all. Ive attached a few photos..none of them are great.. but they are the only ones i have as i am waiting on good weather to take more. As for me, I live in Lexington South Carolina, a suburb of the capital of Columbia, and Im president of a local car club called Ground Zero.. We've been in existance since '94 so weve got some longivity. Im also a member of the SC F&Y Body, Thirdgen.org, F-Body.org, GMMOP, and The Midlands Mopar Club. I Own 2 other vehicles that I mod in my spare time, my wife's Cavalier, and my Mitsu Eclipse. The Eclipse is my daily Driver. Hope you like the photos, and please let me knwo what you think. What rides do you have? do you know anyone who would want to buy a jet ski or trade for their camaro???
Thanks.

GOOD MOVE trading the Misubishi for the Camaro.. I bet its AWESOME!! I traded a 95 Camaro for my 85 T/A. Sure liked that Camaro. I had it since it was new and racked up 140k miles on it. Pertty awesome ride, but she was getting old and the 3rd gen I found was just too nice to pass up. If you decide to change your mind on your '01 Camaro, let me know, the bird could use some company...

i just got done with a bunch of carb problems, so i m wishin now that I had a tpi setup.. but since the car was a 6 cyl to begin with, i dont know if i want to go through the hassle of the factory TPI, may just save and buy a nifty Holley SUPERRAM!!

FI is nice, but there is nothing like hands on tunning with a carb.
Besides, I am planning on racing some at the track, so it makes things easier.
Sorry to hear about the carb problems. Did you get any help from the guys on the board?
I am going to fire mine up in a few more days and I will see what I run into. Luckly I have a little knowledge about carbs and have some great friends that run them and are good at tuneing.
good luck if you do decide to go FI.

Im the same way..everything i know about carbs ive learned in like the last week and a half... as for FI.. its a matter of $ more than desire..i'd do it in a hart beat if i had the $...
good luck on the fireup... im sure it will run great.. specially if you got all those buddys that know alot about them.. ive only got one buddy that knows alot bout carbs, but he's real good.. usualy can tell whats wrong just by listening to my engine, and that I wouldnt belive unless i'd of seen it.. so its all good.
