What to do with an 88 IROC Z28????
So I bought this 88 Iroc 350 TPI at the auction on tuesday with the intentions of pulling the motor for a v8 92 S10 blazer project I have and selling the rest. The tranny is out so had to pull it home. After looking it over I am torn on whether or not to part it out or slap in a tranny and sell it. I picked it up for 590 bucks. The heater/AC box is missing the underhood portion with the blower motor, the fans are rigged to a toggle switch, the wipers don't work, and the windows are slow. The interior is all there and in fair condition (no rips or tears, but some wear) The body isn't rusty or beat up too much, some small damage on front ground effect and rear wing (cracked). The engine runs really well, but seems to have a little ring smoke. If I diddn't already have so many projects I know it would be worth fixing to keep, but do you guys think it is worth fixing to sell? Or sell as is and find a more damaged one to gut for my TPI S10? I am a lover of cars and hate to destroy something that could be rescued. Guess that's why I have too many projects LOL. Man this is getting long....

just for the hell of it, how much would you want for it the way it sits? Or minus the TPI and wiring if you wanted to keep it?

I was gonna ask the same question. I have a 700R laying around taking up space right now....and I need a daily driver to replace my 40-year-old truck that's falling apart.
What would you take for it as it sits? Is the title good?

The title is good, I just have not sent it in yet. It will cost me $100 to get the title done, beacause I have to pay taxes and six to eight weeks to get it back (usually faster but that is what they say). I would have $690 in it, I guess I would need $1000 as is to make it worth my while. I'm not really trying to sell this here though, and would just like some input, what do you guys think it's worth? i figure the motor/wiring/ecm complete is worth about 600 from what ive seen and the wheels are going around 300 on ebay. I guess if someone wanted the car as is and let me keep the wheels we could work something out.

Either fix and sell or just sell it. If parted out, may wish you did not a few years down the road. Looks like she may be worth saving.

Hmmm...decisions, decisions. If it's a straight car, fix it up. Parts are readily available for them, the stuff you mentioned won't be that hard to fix. It's too nice to part out. For a grand or so, you can have a nice daily driver for under $2000. With a bad tranny, it's a PERFECT car for a 6 speed swap. I wouldn't think twice on that one.

So what are you asking for it? Seems to me you'd rather just get rid of it than get it going.

to be honest, i would rather fix it up and keep it, but like most of us i have a limited income and need to either make a few bucks off of this or part it out to use on my other projects. i have several offers for 1000 on the car, and one who i promised first shot. keep an eye on this post and i will update if it falls through. i shot 60 pics of the car today if anyone wants some emailed.
