Yeah, I'm down in jacksonville. My third gen still isn't running at the moment, bought it with a busted rear end and have yet to find one. Well, haven't found one at a decent price yet.

I'm getting ready to throw away a ten bolt rear with new drum brakes on it. Let me know if you want it.

Im in Hubert (J'ville Area) welcome ,restoring mine right now. Sitting in a local auto shop supposed to be done today guys had my Third gen for 4 1/2 months , I finished paying him his 5k when he said he'd be done last time big mistake, be careful who you have work on yours here. Im on my way to base legal.

Getting a new tranny built using "the beast" sunshell and such, Replace all fluids;brakes shoes rotors all the way around some brake line R&R , A-pillars and windshield channel repaired new windshield + stock color repaint in those areas ,plugs, wires, radiator ,vacum line R & R,various fittings and boots replaced in suspension, Subframe connectors , new water temp and oil pressure gauges run, deferential rebuilt, new exhaust from manifolds back.

Well..... Brakes=done, glass and body work=done, Tranny=built not in, plugs wires radiator=done, this guys been giving me the parts run around since I finished paying him, "waitin' on the SFCs and exhaust to show up so I can wrap it up", wich he shoulda' had ordered right away,because that was what the amount of the 1st payment was for , parts.

So the day before his last deadline he promised to meet was up he calls, I get the sob story with some tracking numbers for the parts, , asking me if he could have till today well.... drive by his shop everyday for work and today hes got other cars in his bays there mine sits, he aint touched it. I called,says he'll call me as soon as parts are in. This is maddening, Im going to base legal, I mean 5k doesnt seem alot for the work, but thats what he quoted, and he said 30 days, its been 4 1/2 months,and he suckered me into the last payment too.

Said hed be done friday (this was 1 1/2 months ago) dont take credit cards, so I had the bank mail him a cashiers check, so it'd be there on time .I use USAA no branches to go to and I dont write checks. I didn't get my car back that day wasn't done,But he got my money, cashed all my checks too ,I already got copies of canceled checks from my bank for the lawyers. Hey miracles do happen maybe I'll get a call from him Tomorrow.

the spider gears pretty much exploded so ive been trying to decide if it would be better to try and find a new diff or just get a whole rear end. idk, moneys tight right now, was thinking a working rear would be cheaper than rebuilding.

I worked for Gary at Autologic which was on piney green (Hubert now), worked for Bob at Big Wheel Bob in Hubert, helped out Ono's in Hubert and know the old owner, worked another shop on Piney Green and I personnaly know Bob Crom who owns Croms Transmission repair, I also am friends with the son of the owner of Piney Green Tire. If you are still getting the run around once I get up there let me know. It will take me a few weeks to get settled in but after that I will help you out for chump change, bartering, beer, etc. There is not a mod you talked about that I havent done to my car personally.

i stay about 20mins from Battleboro but im around the Golden East Crossing Mall of Rocky Mount often which is, id say, maybe 10mins away from Battleboro. and that would be cool. my car is in the process of getting another exhaust put on so im carless for the next couple days. ya in a car club or rouge?

I know where you're talking about. One of the folks I stay with, she is one of the bartenders there at that applebees. I am a part of a car club, kind of, I hang out with Camaro South car club and the chapter in fayetteville. but they have a chapter throughout NC and SC I think.

Cool man. I have a firebird. Only third gen firebird I know. The others belong to older people. But would be cool to meet some other third gen guys. I like camaros too. I was actually looking into getting a 91 camaro a couple weeks ago before getting a ticket for doing 80mph on hwy 301which is 45-55mph. So yea, gotta put that camaro on hold for that big ticket. And me and my girl and friends go to applebees every now and then.

Well, I am finally in NC. I bought a house in Hubert. I do go up to Goldsboro every few weeks to pick up my son (the ex lives there). I would like to meet up with some guys on here and do some cruizing/bench racing. I dont mind traveling to Wilmington or here in J'Ville. Getting cold out though. If anyone wants to meet up lets post up in this thread and try and get something together before it dips into the 20's and stays there.

Sounds like a good time. This is not a good week for me for sure. Might not be able to next week. Kinda hard to get off work, change over, and still make it there by 8pm. I will let you know. I would assume by the name of the club it is open to all cars?

It is open to all cars and almost all of us are drag racers with V8 cars.

Can't make it this week but sounds like a plan for next week. Maybe get to put some faces with screen names. As long as it ain't raining. Hour and a half drive for me.

I am going to plan on trying to make it next week. Do people show up prior to 8pm to hang out, or is the the offical club meet start time? I have been in many Jeep clubs and we usually came early to eat, then the established start time was to conduct the club meeting itself.

Cars started showing up around 7:50 which is when I got there. We went in to eat at 8:10 because it was cold outside. It was a good turnout.

mine is flat black with rally wheels and a 4" cowl. ive seen yours before. those wheels look prety good on there. i keep mine in a storage unit and work unit there. its not driveable right now. im in the process of rebuilding the motor.

This Saturday the 7th is Cars and Coffee in Wilmington at Flaming Amy's on Oleander Drive. It will be from 9-11am. Later that night, the Coastal Carolina Racing car club will be meeting at BWW at 8pm.

Great car show this mourning. Well over 100 cars there. Most were V8's. Lots of classic big block cars came out today. Good stuff. Meeting tonight at BWW.
