thinking about a product to make...

hey guys, im thinking about "making" and selling polished rims and have them different colors. IE get soem IROC rims, polish them, and have them anodized different colors.. but do this for many different types of rims. does this sounds liek a wise thing to do (u think there woudl be alot of people out there in the market for things like this?)

If not that, you could just offer the service to polish! I know I could use that service! Eric

Polishing is hard work. I don't have any power sanders and it took me forever to polish my stealth ram plenum by hand. Doing 4 rims by hand would be a nightmare. But you could probably sell them on eBay for a pretty good price.

..maybe ill do the "service" and maybe sell some rims on the side as well. i finished polishing the frame on my R6, just about dont with the singarm and rims of the bike as well. I did the T.B. of the engine as well as the alternator and am going to do the rest of the TPI intake this weekend. i have a mouse sander that i use up to 220 grit, and i do the rest by hand (not that hard IMO). im going to see how long it takes me to do my bike rims and how long on some used iroc rims *that ill prob end up selling on ebay or something* and if it doesnt take to long.. i may do it... now to think of how much to charge lol honestly ill prob stay on the cheap side (cost of materials, maybe shipping, and a little bit for my time) im not going to make it heela expensice cause i know what its like to what something thats pretty cool looking, but cant afford someones $2000 price tag (ill prob be under $500) but not sure.. ill have to research and look on the net on how much polished stuff goes for, and go from there.

How hard was it to polish the frame of the R6? Have you done anything else to it? I need to start customizing mine, right now its stock.

ploishing the frame was a real bitch.. ill just say that much. it took my close to 2 weeks to do it. but i also did the triple tree and the bar end links. but it is still stock as well *its my daily driver* and since im going to get an '04 R1 im just going to keep the R6 as a milage bike and the R1 for a track/cruise bike. but i am going to do a either a 15/48 sprocket and 520 chain conversion ... or just a 48 in the rear.. and prob a akrpovic slip on. im wondering if i want to do the sprocket thing cause im getting 50-52 mpg so far, and if i go the sprocket thing it may go down.. granted it may only go down a few mpg and ill lose like 15 mph of my top speed.. but im never above 120 anyway

The R6 is my daily driver too, I am getting just under 50mpg. I was thinking of getting a two bothers slipon and changing my turn signals. Have you taken yours to the track, I will probably do that this summer.
